Unfortunately, the big magazines won't post press releases for magazines they see as competition. They're trying to open up the field of snowboard reviews. Currently, the category of reviews in the snowboard market are dominated by paid advertising or 'non-core' companies, ie about.com and buzillions. SBG has been around for years doing reviews, but they've just opened up to allow readers to write reviews as well as their review team. I think the carving market is valuable aspect of snowboarding, often forgotten in the midst of the latest freestyle trends, and wanted to include your community. Nothing fishy, just trying to incentivise people to post reviews. I believe once things get rolling the plan is to have bigger monthly giveaways to top reviewers.
