c4isTheAnswer
'Sup folks? I'm kind of new to the snowboard carving community. Really just trying to get into it, but I've got no one around to share the interest with me. All my winter sports friends are skiers and park boarders, and they can only teach me so much. I've been freeriding for a few years now, and the whole "go fast and carve" aspect of hard-boots and alpine boards has gripped me in a way no terrain park ever has. I love hooking fast turns in hard-pack and ice. I guess all I'm really looking for is some advice for a guy who really wants to try a new form of riding. Anything constructive would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, c4

newcarver
Allboardssports in Boulder? They rent or demo alpine gear I think. Would be a good place to start. Could probably hook you up with some local carvers too. Start out carving on your soft boots. Will help with the transition of switching to hard boots. inkaholic
Welcome c4, Keep an eye on the ride board here on the forum to get info on what is happening. D.T., Big Mario, PCDenver and I, along with others, usually ride loveland on the weekends since we have passes there and work during the week. You are always welcome to ride with us and I am sure you will get more than an ear full of tips about improving your riding. The first one you get is to ride with people who are better than you are. You will see, hear and experience things that you won't get riding by yourself. And yes, check out Bola at All Boards Sports to see and demo a bunch of equipment. Hope to see you soon!
