I'm about to buy new boots. I'm a pretty aggressive carver, so stiff is ok. Head, DEEluxe, or Upz? i read about the boots, and see they all have some problems. which would be the best? I'm not super concerned about overhang, although I'm leaning towards the upz boots. Any info is much appreciated, thanks:lol:

This year I transitioned from the stock UPZ boot to the Deeluxe 700

with Thermo liner. I have hard feet to fit, so made a point to do a

shell test in person before buying.. Really glad I did - otherwise I would

have ordered a boot-size too-big.

What spurred my purchase. - In my opinion - UPZ's were super stiff,

responsive, had a recessed / much smaller footprint on the board :)

but were also uncomfortable, cold, and buckle clasps kept breaking/stripping. :(

Also being a big/agressive rider, the whole toe-clip separation issues made

me a bit nervous.

Deeluxe has a different feel which took me a while to get used to.

Much softer than I expected. The flex seemed to come from the shell being deformed

where I don't think the UPZ's shell deformed much at all.

In the foot bed, the UPZ's seemed much more narrow in both

width and height. Ankles/shins are much roomier with Deeluxe.

Thermoflex liners are super comfy and warm, but felt squishy and less

responsive at first, in comparison to the thin UPZ standard liners.

I like Deeluxe, and I like UPZ but they give me a completely different

feel when riding.

Hope my rambling helps.
