NMU Alpine Boarder
Brule is located down in the Iron River area....
pebu
Iron River is about 2 hours south of Houghton. Take 41 south until you get to 141/28. Take a right. Then go a couple miles till you get to Covington (where 28 and 141 split). 141 goes down into Crystal Falls. Take a right on 2 and go through Iron River until you see sign-age for Ski brule. My grandma lives in IR so I've taken the trek a few times... Nice area. Been to ski brule quite a few times, but that was before hardboots. How is it for carving? Guest ltlmac
its pretty good for carving, most of the runs have a good width to them, and they keep them groomed well, depending on crowd size the middle of some get icy
rwmaron
Heading over to Ironwood with the family later this week - would be interested in a conditions report if anyone visited Indianhead or Powderhorn this past weekend. Thanks in advance!
rwmaron
Didn't hear from anyone on this, so I'll report instead: Powderhorn on Wednesday 2/20 - 4-6" of fresh; Indianhead on Thursday 2/21 - mostly groomed, excellent carving conditions. Our first trip to Indianhead and I'd go back in a heartbeat (especially mid week).
