Zone
For those of you that have certain models of Canon, there is safe hack to the firmware I recently found. Now I can have the battery level, live histogram, RAW shooting, motion detection, time lapse etc etc... on my lowly 710is. In addition, I will have to try out the super high shutter speed hack (may be able to freeze the snow spray nicely). Shutter speeds up to 1/64,000sec!!! http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK
Derf
I got a A720IS before Christmas, but it has not been ported to it yet because the OS is not the same. Can't wait to see if they can do it so I can shoot RAW.
bartron
Thanks for the headsup drzone. Just the other day I thinking how cool it would be to have a live histogram. This will be awesome. It's supports my A630 too. Woo Hoo ! 'later...
Zone
Saw some cool pics of the sun without any filter! To get the 1/50,000-1/100,000s 'aperture' speed, you need to be at f7-8 or so. At those settings, not much light is getting through, so one guys actually took some properly exposed picture of the sun. Looks like the moon but that is kind of cool. Watch if you were to try, not to leave the camera pointing too long at the sun, otherwise you'd have a nice burn on the camera sensor. Got to try those water drops sometime. Done it in the past but needed a flash to freeze the motion.
Zone
Here's a try last night. Camera is hand held. Flash set on full. Speed at 1/64,000 Aperture f8
