inkaholic
Leave Zip Basin alone - that's MY powder! Only if you can beat my 200, D.T.'s 192, Mario's 187 tankers there. (Mario is feeling a bit inadequate on soft days) Not to mention Bola on the Dupraz, Matt on the 182 Tanker, Jeff and Bob on the 182 Glissades and BPC on whatever he takes out. But there is room for all of us to play in the fluffy stuff. Ink

RDY_2_Carve
Southern CO news: Another 29" at Wolfie. They now reporting a 106-129" base with 100% of the terrain open. Considering the lack of lift lines this past Saturday I would assume that there's a few more face shots left out there! Durango is going to be 100% open this weekend with all the recent snow. They opened a week or so ago and have been getting pounded every since. Silverton got 50" in the past couple days and they have a 100" base as well. Got balls? In New Mexico news: Santa Fe announced an opening for this weekend with all lifts running and 75% of the runs open. Angel Fire/Taos area got 30"+ in the last 2-3 days. Taos is reporting a 75" base which I find hard to believe. Both resorts open this weekend and should have some decent terrain open. La Nina or not it looks like we are starting off the season strong. I hope this keeps up!!
John E
We tried Silverton about 4 years ago. I was on my soft boot setup & my wife on telemarks. We were WAY over our heads. She did one run & I did 4. I was exhausted. No runs - just chutes & through the trees. Deep, fairly heavy snow with no base. If you fall (which I did a lot), it was really difficult to get up. Some areas brag about their "Double Black Diamonds". Silverton is in a league of its own. Anyone else been there?
