Or maybe Bordy isn't all bad, he looks like a true VH fan :biggthump

dave eddie alex and that fat kid wolfgang rocked it HARD last night.

I heard 11/6 is gonna end up on a dvd.

Never thought I'd see it again after 24 years (1982) since seeing them in Worcester 2 nights in a row.

[THREADJACK] (kinda, but not really. I thought I was originally posting in the "Racers are people too" thread.)

DLR looks like such a flamer now... (Not that there's anything wrong with that)

attachment.php?attachmentid=9204&stc=1

Whish I could see them again too. My wife laughs and says "Are they still alive?" any time I mention anyone like VH, Rush or anyone from that era.... Ah, the good ol' days when you had to scrimp and save for a $20 - $30 ticket...

And Bordy, your "VH" symbol on your vest is all screwed up. ;) Ya shoulda had me draw it. We could have coppied it from my "VH" jack-o-lantern from last haloween....

worth a ride to wormtown just to see eddies solo

killer version of Eruption.....lots of confetti at the end....big mirror ball :biggthump

edit:

hairspray and genetics have not been kind to DLR scalp :p plugs ? weave ?

maybe he shoulda gone the Satch route

At the last minute I scored a 10th row floor on Ed's side. Leaning right up against the catwalk. Awesome!!! Too bad Ed is always plugged in and couldnt utilize that catwalk to get right out into the audience like DLR and Wolfgang did. Check out the youtube vid I attached. Hit the play button on the bottom left corner so it doesn't open a new window. Stop it at precisely at -2:11 and you will see a red Security guy just to DLR's right. And 2 guys holding up license plates from Philly. I am taller and overlapping a little to the right of that Red Security guard. So now that you all will be able to recognize me, :D if I make it to ECES this year we can all laugh over a beer. Or maybe start with a heated discussion....... and then many beers. :biggthump

saw them last Thursday at Verizon Center.

They pretty much owned.

"edit:

who cares, he's still the man, still has the stage theatrics, and do i have to even say he's probably gotten far more (fine) ass in a few months than most guys do in a lifetime.

Yeah, he's still a bona fide rock star.

DLH ? dave lee's HAIR ?

you kiddin' ?, I love that guy. So many people can't stand him.I met him back in the day in NYC in a club and he was a total DICK. Met him years later here in Boston(after he'd been somewhat humbled) and he wasn't so brash anymore.

I really enjoyed his radio show but maybe it was just TOO smart for the masses.O&A, Howard etc dial it down enuf to keep the avg listener laughing at fart jokes.

So many stories about DLR. Was the Washington Square PArk bust a setup to get him some attention ?or not ?

back in high school, they were second only to Areosmith, imho.

I saw Mammoth play a so cal keg party once, years before VH1.Eddie ruled !

Those first two vids don't sound like they are live. They sound exactly like the album, which Dave definitely doesn't live.

Were they lipsinced music vids from back in the day. Or just dubbed recently?

And that VHtour site, how do you get stuff from there?

sorry he was a dick to you, however he's still the man.

i met Billy F Gibbons (aka 1/3 of zz top) in LAX in March and he was sorta a dick, but he's still the man- sorta, lol.

they're rock starz dude, we're not.

actually, I AM a rockstar and I AM the man, as well.

It must be rough having people treat you like a superhuman all the time. The cost of fame is high. Curt Kobain HATED how he couldn't just go out and see a show without being hassled.Jerry Garcia said he liked to just "hide" backstage and avoid all the geeks ( he wasn't into chasing hippy freak bimbos like Bobby was). I'm always impressed when I meet someone famous and they're just regular to you, no weird vibe. I think the famous folks enjoy when someone just says hey "how ya doin' ?" instead of "didn't you used to be Peter Frampton ?" or "OH MY GAWD ! It's Robert Plant ! OH MY GAWD !" that must get really old.

Diamond Dave had an ego the size of Montana back in the day and I was kinda bummed at how rude he was.If you don't like signing autographs, don't be famous.

We were in the same circle with Jerry Cantrell (AIC) this summer during Velvet Revolver's set and he was totally chill and friendly. Gapers suck, no matter who you are.

My only brush with famous people was with Darren McCarty's band Grinder. They came to our college town so we went. They played, they were pretty good. They signed autographs and the bar was closing so everybody left. My roommates and I just kinda stuck around until they were going to kick us out. Well next thing you know it's about 3:00 in the morning and we're still sittin there in the bar BSing with Darren's band, buying them drinks, them buying us drinks. Darren wasn't there though. He kinda got "preoccupied" in his RV with one of the chicks from my school... He wasn't a dick or anything, he just kinda blew us off. His band was cool though.

We were at the Metallica, Jerry Cantrell show a few years ago. The concession area is to the side and kinda behind the stage area(Molson Ampthetheatre, Toronto). A friend and I were chilling and having a beer between bands and we look over to see Jerry and his road manager leaning against a low gate to the backstage area. We walk over and politely say how good we thought the set was that he just played (he rocked, big time!!!). He signed our ticket stubs and was very gracious and seemed happy to talk to us. Not the norm with rock stars.

Saw AIC this past year at The Warehouse (1500 person club venue). Was right at the rail in front of Jerry. It was so good to see them play everything again. No Lane, but pretty close.

Also, saw AIC open for Van Halen in Buffalo in 1991 or so. I had never heard of them back then and wondered who this F!cked up lead singer writhing around on stage in a down parka was!! It wasn't long before everyone knew who they were.

Ahhhh, reminising about the good old Grunge scene!

Not the norm with rock stars.

well, it should be....it's all so watered down now. Stephen Tyler used to SUCH an arsehole back in the day. Now, he's mr diplomacy.

blame the drugs, I guess.

Joe Perry's always been a chill cat.

My buddy said the backstage scene at AIC /VR was pretty tame compared to say the old GNR days. it's so corporate now, no getting wasted before the show, esp Weiland on a short leash.

I heard Slash always has a cooler full of brew.

We were 3rd row for Ozzy and Zach was swillin' beers from a blue cup every chance he got.He didn't look like he was havin' a good time at all.

The turbo negro dude was funny as hell. Nick from mondo generator asked us where to get a sub. over there, dude, across the street, great subs.
