I finally got my new lens yesterday for my camera, and immediatley started shooting it. I just love the pictures that it takes. I don't really have a point here, I'm just excited :argue: . Here are some shots that I took earlier today.

Its a Nikon 50mm f/1.8. Very inexpensive, but takes god photos. Alot of the softness is due to the "soft" setting on my camera, I was taking human portraits the day before and forgot to switch it back to normal.

She didn't request soft, did she?

Anyway, I used "softer" the day before becasue I was shooting outdoors, in direct sunlight, in the snow. The sharper images were just wayyyy too harsh for our liking. Here's the best one of the day:

Any sharper and it wouldn't have been even close to what we were going for. The highlights were burned unintentionally, but when I retook the photo, I greatly perfered this one.

nice! that's sharp.

I have the Canon 50/1.8, and it's extremely sharp when it hits, but the AF is poor in sub-ideal light. I don't use it anymore since I got my 24-70/2.8L.
