Scorpio
Future Snowboarding (FSM) launched a new website with a boardfinder database. If you look at the Prior and Nidecker offerings, it lists the alpine decks. There are even some swallowtails listed. Info is sparse but at least its a step in the right direction for alpine representation. http://www.futuresnowboarding.com/
Guest
Of course, they don't actually list alpine boards as alpine boards. they're listed as freeride.
BlueB
Also had few alpine boards listed in buyers guide. I think Prior and Volkl. I'm not 100% sure, but a swalowail was there too... It's happening.
chadx
Nice to see a little more face time, but don't expect the bulk of 'silly' on-slope questions to die off anytime soon. ("Is that like a snowboard?" "Is that one of those wide skies/mono skis/skwals?" etc.)
trikerdad
It's funny, under 'terrain choices' in their Board Caddy, they list all terrains except 'groomed'.
Pow
Transworld snowboarding's website also has alpine style riding as an option in the "setup selector", and Donek, Nidecker, Hot, Madd, Prior, and Volkl listed as boardmakers. however, no alpine boards are in there database at the moment, so a search for this gear would come up empty. Rob Stevens
Dano Pendygrasse, who created "Future" was into alpine a bit when we lived in Whistler in the late 80's. He was great on his edge and had alot of respect for the carving setup. It really wasn't his weapon of choice, but he was pretty open minded about it.
