  1. My daughter's at DU so I will be coming out to ski with her. I think Abasin, Brek, Keystone are some of the closer area's. Also plan maybe to take a road trip and hit who ever has the best snow. I know 4 weeks you can get a dump at anytime which I am hoping like the rest of you guys and it happens and often.

  2. I will be coming out the week of 3/14 to ride starting in the Denver area. A few questions I have 4 boards in my quiver and as much as I would love to bring all 4 well easy answer.

    tomahawk-180

    volkl-163

    arbor A frame (soft)

    atomic BX (hard boots)-beater board.

My first guess is the 180 and arbor..

Also anything else I sould think of besides a large bottle of advil......

    Thanks

  3. Setting up this thread for those who want to set up riding times with other fellow carvers. Three of us met last Thurs morning which turned out to be a blast. Great snow, sun and best of all few people on the hill.. Great turns made by all.

Going forward lets try to get in as many of those days before the season...well can't say it but till than see ya out there.

  4. Steve surprised to see you checking out the post.. I'll take you up on the try, they say timing is everything.. I owe Noah his Madd-maybe he will forget about it...yea right.

Whats up for tomorrow-is it a wait and see or will it just be called off?

  5. Just started the Nastar thing and wanted to get an idea of what a good board might be. My main ride is a Volkl SL which I have not taken thru the gates. My first time I used a loaner, Coiler AM 69 which for the first time seemed a better choice. I don't have enough experence to make a judgement on it yet. I have much still to learn for running gates. Here's the bottom line: would I be best to buy the Coiler and use that or put my money on a different board.

    I'm open to idea's.

  6. Noah when are you going to start gate running? What about another night of trying to get as many carvers out at ward for just a fun night? We can work on seeing if we can get a special ticket price to help the cause of getting as many out as we can. Where have you been for ITC training?

  7. Hay guys, I'm an eastern carver that has a daughter at DU this year and with SWA having such a great deal on flights I'm coming out to ride this season. This may sound silly but any idea's of when to book my flight? I would guess Jan and Feb are best for pow?.. But wanted to put the question out there to hear from the locals their thoughts on the best time to plan a trip. So any input is great.

    Thanks

  8. It sounds like I need to come out west were ice isn't the daily condiction. In New England we call it blue powder. What we call a pow day is 6+. Plus what the groomers do in the east (Ma) is pack it real hard due to the local area's are open from 9am to 10 pm and some of the area's only groom one time in the morning and let it go the rest of the day so by 5 its pretty hard to scraped off to ice. So looking for a board that can run great for first tracks to getting out on ice appears to be a tall order. From what I have seen from the local good riders is that sub 160 ish sl board. Believe it or not most of the guys I see that can really rip it up are on the Madd 158. I think I will have to see if one of them will part with one for a day to really give it a try. The sugestion to try any of the other great boards (coiler, donek, prior) I'll have to keep my eyes open for when becomes available-I haven't seen any of those in a SL out here I have seen them in a GS as well as an all mountain style board-which would be my second board in the quiver or maybe a EC style board...this is why I love and hate this sport so many boards so little cash and time....I still find it a blast!!!

  9. I'm fishing around I would love to get a Madd 158 but new they are out of my reach and haven't seen a used one for some time. So when I saw this F2 in a 156 I wanted to look into it. So if you have any other boards worth looking into that compairs to the Madd I'm open to it.

Thanks for the get back on this. Last thing I want to do is get a ride that isn't what I was looking for.

  10. Can anyone tell me something more about this board.

    156

    8.2 R

    20.8 waist

    I think its an 06.

Is it a SL race board? Anything regarding how the edges are set from the factory on this?

I'm looking for a tight east coast board thats good on ice as well as just a snappy ride.

    Thanks for any help..
