Hi everyone,
I just got a new board (donek metal) and Im not sure if I should send it to a tuning shop (PCT) to get it tuned up, or to just ride it with the factory tune. What do you guys think?
Also, If I just go factory, should I do something to prep the base as a new board, or should I just throw a couple of layers of wax on it?
Man...I havent posted for a while. Im gettin old. But snow makes me happy! :)

anyone?
I may be interested, but I need to know what the waist width is. And what is the turning radius btw? And now that I think of it, did you ask for an extra stiff board...even though it was made for a 250 lb person, doesnt Bruce design it around your riding style?

I just realized that one of the screws holding my intecs in must have wiggled out. Good thing I found this early.
I am going on a trip in 2 days, and I need a replacement screw. Does anyone know what kind of screw Intecs take? Can i get this at the local hardware store?
I have head stratos pros btw.
Thanks!
Merry Christmas...

This topic is interesting because I read alot of books on sociology on the side. You all may find this link interesting ->: http://www.academia.org/lectures/lind1.html
granted, this stuff is controversial, but the fact remains that it is prevalent in society. I could write pages on this....but let me just illustrate some basic cause and effect related to political correctness.
- the birth rate today is below what is necessary to sustain our current level of "western" population. (this is worse in europe than the USA)
- PC policies reduce the amount of "western" children (abortion, deemphasis on family, deemphasis on religion, individualism over community, feminism, etc)
- PC policies also emphasize differences between people, creating less common ground and therefore less community (diversity, emphasis on foreign culture, stressing racial differences)
people may disagree with traditional values, but the truth is that they pump out generations of reliable hard workers that are inculcated in thier tradition that can grow a society. the current PC trends kill societies.
These views are also reflected in books that touch on the topic of "decadence"
the sad thing is that neither major political party currently has policies that adequately address these problems.

only the bails are made out of titanium......the plates are not. they are just gold colored.

its worth the $$ bc its a lot tougher than standard bags. you may need the one for 2 skis if you have a really long board. a google search for sportube (or a bomber search) will yeild plenty of info.
i dont use any stomp pads.
i destroy all the gloves i buy quickly....i have yet to find a good pair.

It looks like I am going to go on a trip to JAckson hole with a group of about 8. Does anyone have recommendations for lodging and tickets? All info is much appreciated.
Is JAckson Hole what it is cracked up to be? We still have time to change if necessary!

Youre not the only hardbooter in Texas anymore..lol. I moved to Victoria 2 months ago.

Patients approach doctors with a sense of trust and confidentiality about thier health, so medical decisions should not be unduly influenced by financial gifts. If bargaining with a salesperson, this sense of trust would not be implicit. I'm not familiar with these regulatory laws, but it seems like when people cannot be trusted on thier own not to be influenced, they end up being treated like babies. lol...maybe something like this should be done for politicians.

I'm in NJ, but i wouldnt hesitate to send my board somewhere. Any ideas? Thanks!

I ordered the double ski model (according to the stats, my boards should fit). It is ~ 10 inches longer than the snowboard model....and is now dubbed the alpine snowboard model. Ive never been so excited about a board bag lol.

I recall some discussion about hardshell board bags/cases. I would really like to get one of these. Does anyone have one of these? where did/can you get one? Thanks!

Thanks Maciek.... I think? When I got my old job (the one I just left, the one I had for 5.5 years) I had no professional programming experience and no degree in CS, just a few classes under my belt and my own aptitude that someone recognized. So I went to work and took classes part time. Without the degree, I'd probably be stuck at my old job, or I'd be taking a lesser position with any new company. With the degree, now I can write my own ticket. No regrets. CS job market in Maine is looking bright for now.
Youre a good writer Jack, you could always be a patent attorney lol. :) Too bad it usually requires living close to a big city.

Maybe it's different in the US, but here a restaurant can't just refuse service to anyone. They're likely to face some sort of human rights tribunal intent on getting to the bottom of it (typically racism or something else). My company can fire me anytime, but they have to pay me if they do. The ski/snowboard thing gets by because you're not discriminating against the actual person - in the same way, a restaurant can refuse service for improper dress or some such, but not just because they don't like you.
For the most part, in the US, if you are not discriminating on the basis of a "suspect class" or a "fundamental right" then you can discriminate all day long. Even if you are discriminating, if you have a reason that meets the proscribed "level of scrutiny" for that discrimination, it will be permitted. (e.g., if you wish be racially discriminatory, like through affirmative action, you need to meet "strict scrutiny," having a compelling reason using a least restrictive alternative.) Generally this only applies to action taken by the government, but the feds and the states can pass laws preventing discrimination of all sorts, applying constitutional norms to private conduct. The law in this area, in my opinion, is really convoluted (because of people making up legal grounds on which to permit these laws). There are federal laws prohibiting racial discrimination in public restaurants and hotels. Nonetheless, for example, discrimination on the basis of race is usually permitted in private clubs (a given state could probably prohibit that by state law, but im not sure.)
So...there are laws preventing racial discrimination in restaurants. But there probably arent any laws based on discrimination of wintertime sport preference because noone cares enough to pass legislation to outlaw it (although they probably could, since it is not a suspect class or fundamental right, all the state would need is a "rational basis" (read: any bs reason) to outlaw such discrimination).

Im thinking about going to Mt. Hood or something similar for a week. I noticed on the events page that there is a camp there with mainly young people. I also noticed a link regarding Mike Jacoby's Camp. Are there any other places like this I could go to In North America after July 25, before the last week of August?
Has anyone gone to Mt. Hood in August? How was it?
I hope i dont have to go through withdrawal again if i go....snowboarding withdrawl is rough.
