  1. Snow Summit is overall more carve friendly and has a regular crew who are just a great bunch of guys. Geronimo at Bear Mtn, though, is by far my favorite run in Southern California. Steep, wide, well-groomed and uncrowded (at least during the week). Snow Summit and Bear have a cool thing where if you leave by 1 PM they give you a pass for what equates to the difference between a 1/2 day ticket and a full day ticket. Like a half day pass for the GOOD half of the day. Pretty sweet if you don't have a season pass. Mtn High is closer to Temecula by about half an hour and is open 7 nights a week but does all kinds of stupid, annoying/dangerous things at a managerial level like putting the largest jumps all over the main, easy Blue run down from what is often the only lift operating besides the bunny hill. So you have tons of complete beginners being funneled cluelessly into the landing zones of these medium to large jumps, total carnage. I've seen more horrific collisions at that place than everywhere else combined but still go there after work pretty regularly, in spite of the mob-rule lift lines, because there are a couple of fun runs that are too steep for the beginners and don't have terrain features for the jibbers.     A bit confused ummm -where in my previous post was "binding suck" even mentioned?? Also, why would I flame a product that I am looking to buy? I was just commenting that in the previously posted photo (which I now see has been deleted), the Kessler spacers looked, to me at least, like they might have some lengthwise curvature to them -not that that's a bad thing, just a now-proven-to-be-erroneous observation. Thanks for confirming that the spacers are flat, which would make them much easier to make although I would prefer to get some professionally machined spacers from Kessler or Catek if I can find them. I'm glad to hear that you've used these spacers and are happy with them.

    Thanks Scott, I'm definitely interested. I have my OS2s completely dialed in, love them , and do not want to change bindings if I don't have to. I just finished making spacers out 1/16" polycarbonate and am now wondering if 1/16" is thick enough to prevent damage. I made 2 sets so I could stack them, if necessary. It also looks like the Kessler spacers have what's called "rocker" in surf-speak or a lengthwise bottom curvature, especially the lower spacer. It may just be an optical illusion in the photo though.

    Bola, Do you carry the Kessler Risers? I believe the S-Flex requires 10-pack inserts for mounting (5 rows) and I only have 4 rows. Thanks.

    Can I run OS2s with D3 dampeners on a Kessler without damaging the topsheet? If not, would putting shaped 1/16" inch Plexiglass sheets with a much larger footprint under the bindings distribute the pressure enough to prevent dimpling? I really can't afford trial amd error ($$$$) on this one, if you know what I mean.

    That is so true. Today I was helping an accountant over the phone who said her keyboard didn't work. After about half an hour she says, "Oh my God! I've been typing on my desktop keyboard and looking at my laptop screen." I didn't see that one coming.

    I figured skwal for the board and what you're saying about the bindings makes perfect sense now. The Phiokka base plate, even at 11 cm wide is almost as wide as the board so they lift it and are combining/modifying readily available hardware to meet the needs of an unusual application. Thanks for clarifying.

    The Intec model definitely look like Phiokka base, F2 toe and heel blocks, home grown centerdisk and a homegrown cant/lift wedge that looks like a cross between a TD-1 wedge and a Burton wedge. (Phiokka puts blocks/wedges under the toe and heelblocks instead of under the baseplate for lift/cant, at least on the model I have). The standard bail model looks like Phiokka base, Phiokka toe and heel blocks, home grown centerdisk, homegrown cant/lift wedge and an F2 toe clip. Why would you do this, unless you have a box of mismatched binding parts, no money and feel like tinkering? It seems you make the binding less than the some of its parts.
