  1. OK, how about recommending a specific "nice wide set of footbeds?" The bootfitter showed me some cu$tom cork ones, but at that price I'll just try a pair of Salomon Synapse Wide.

Anybody wanna buy a pair of Malamutes? Only used for 6000 vertical feet.

Gleb, my hardboots are getting widened overnight. Must be a different machine.

If you can't solve the problem with your malamutes, let me know. I have a friend that might be interested.

  2. At least you didn't get your ticket cut off by a patroller. I did last season. I think they are trained to be dumb by Intrawest.:mad:

BTW, do you guys ride a lot at Blue? I'll be there often this season since I was forced to buy my season pass this season. Let's ride togather sometime.....I'll be upthere this thursday or friday.

    peace

  3. My opinion is totally opposite of MikeT's.....

I tried Suzukas 2years ago and hated them(ratchet, flex and just about everything) That was the reason I didn't switch over my old Burton Winds. This season, I just got my HEAD Stratos Pro :biggthump and they were the most comfortable boots I have ever tried on. Yesterday was my first day out with the boots and I didn't feel any pain anywhere. And guess what? I didn't even mold the liners.

They have THE PERFECT FLEX, Walk mode and spring system works great. And their buckles are very similar to HEAD's highend ski boots buckles so they are also superb.

I think you should try both of them and see how you like them. You will instantly notice which one is more for you as soon as you put them on. I have standard shaped but thin feet FYI.

For now, I love HEAD boots. :D

  4. Come on people. What's this attitude about 'expecting an email back quickly or I am not buying' ?

Usually you are buying ONE piece of equipment (most of the times several hundred dollars and never more than 2000$) and not investing serious capital in some big company!

These are all relative small companies. Let them handle the orders ALREADY PLACED AND PAID FOR first and then worry about inquiries that may or may not lead to one more order.

That's not right. Even if you are buy ONE piece of equipment, you are still a customer. They need to respond quickly if they want to survive in the business. I don't care how many orders are waiting but I've never had late response with my 1 and half year waiting with Bruce at Coiler.

I probably can't afford one for a while but probably won't buy one if they ignore one email from me.

  5. Just got a pair of physics binding that a bought here on BOL. To my surpise in the box where the parts for the front hooks to turn the into the speed physics. anybody have any comments/problems/or reviews of the these....first thing I noticed after retrofitting my boots with them that there is no side to side slop...any comments would be appreciated

Mine broke 3 times. It wasn't the hook, it was the two bolts that hold the hooks to the base. Anyway, speed physic was great but TD was much rigid to me than speed hooks. Hope you like them. They do work pretty well if you don't have problem with heels(they tend to stuck with binding if there is snow in between your heels and binding.) Goodluck

  6. for much less you can get this beauty:

    http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7201019603

well of course bids are not over yet!

I know the shaper too, and quality is extreme !

For the hype shapers around this topic, you might want to check with a new material... Rumors has it some WC skiis are going to test it quick...its "Glare"

I have tried to get some for tests... mission impossible! price must be high too!

    Nils

    Wow....AMAZING!

  7. My name is Robby and I am a Highschool racer. I am 5'11 120 lbs. I have an Oxygen Proton GS 178. I hav not ridden it yet. I am a very aggresive rider, Is the board going to be to hard to turn on a GS course? Also, is a Volkl Renn Tiger 158 stiff enough for a slalom board for me?

You are same height as I'm....just 60lbs lighter!!!:eek:

I think 170 will be good size.....

  8. I have to agree with Randy, the UPZ boots have some quirks but still are not bad boots per se

my UPZs get much less use than my af 700s, I am one to bash on deeluxe boots but I must say that my af 700s have 200+ days on them and I have not replaced any of the plastic straps or clips, they are just as durable as any conventional buckle out there.

    Bob,

My concern with straps are not because of their durability. I want to be able to crank them up. Prolly Deeluxe's Themoflex liner is better than HEAD's liner though.......

  9. Hello~

I need some feedbacks on both UPZ and HEAD boots. I'm getting a new pair of boots this christmas :D and I want to know which boots is better for me. I don't want Deeluxe because of their plastic straps.

I'm 25 year old male, 177~183lbs, 5'11", intermediate carver. I have 270mm normal width feet. I'm not a racer(because I suck :p ), just an another addicted freecarver that go nuts when it comes to snowboarding :D

So......What do you think? Did anybody try both boots? How's half moldable liner in HEAD? How stiff is UPZ?

    Thx in advance

  10. I remember lusting after those old PJs, especially the ones with the crazy mixed black and white base. Some BS about working better than an all-carbon base... anyways, looked cool as hell.

They called it a Super Safari base if I remember correctly......I also thought that they look cool :biggthump:biggthump And still wondering how did they build that base? Are they die-cut base  or just mixed when base materials get compressed?

  11. I recieved my burton Winds the other day and my toes are a little cramped in the Liners. Are the liners i have safe for the oven for a few minutes to stretch them out?

If they are stock liner you are going to need one size larger than your mondo size. Also it's not safe for the oven. I also use Winds(have two pair) and their liners really suck. You will suffer with stock liners so just go get a pair of moldable liner. You won't notice the pain until you ride them. Other than the liner, they are really good boots. Good luck :biggthump
