  1. Has anyone had experience with this company or their boards? Their design is unusual and intriguing. [url=http://www.incaempire.com/
  2. Ok, it's 60 degrees and raining here. I am looking at taking a few days next week into the weekend (MLK weekend, I know that crowds will be big, but I gotta go somewhere!). Anybody have a good recomendation for the place to go at Tahoe?
  3. While I agree that there is typically a thaw or periodic warm spells in January, we in the mid Atlantic have not seen anything like this in a long time. The sutained warm weather for more than a week is a bit bizarre. Byt he way, Heavenly Resort in California has received 8' of snow in the last week. That's not inches, but FEET! Wonder why none of those guys are on the forum now? Time for some California dreaming!
  4. Just got back from my local hill, and using my Christmas present in advance - my first hard boot and bindings setup! It opened up a whole new world! I had opted to purchase my bindings with the toe clip rather than step-ins. After a few runs, I noticed that the motion of "unclipping" my back boot to get on the lift was creating some damage on the board. Every time I unclipped the toe clip, and part of it rested against the top of the board, it would leave a tiny ding. Over time I can see that creating a problem. Has anyone else had that problem? How would I fix it? I was thinking about puting a strip of duct tape on the toe clip where it contacts the board, but that looks so ugly.
  5. I have had my Flows for what will now be my 4th season. They are great. As one other person pointed out, the Flow boots help with a fit. I had tried other step-ins (Clicker, Switch) and had real issues with clogging of snow in cracks and the need for precision movement to get the device "locked". I can get my foot into the back binding while still on the chair, so it's straight to the slopes (if there isn't a flat runout at the top!). I can carve a pretty mean trench with them, but the boots are soft, so there's some more wiggle room than I would like to see. There can sometimes be a gap between the boot and the top fo the highback, even if you try to get in as tight as you can. I'm taking on a hard boot setting for the first time this year, but I'll still keep my Flows and all-mountain board for those "less than cordoury" days.
  6. My old ski boots are 27.5 cm's, but I measured 27 actual foot size.
  7. Hi. I have been carving for a couple of years. I won't say that I'm very good at it, but I'm learning as I go. Up to now, I've used traditional boots and bindings, so my carving leaves room for improvement. I want to make the transition to hard boots and bindings, but don't want to drop big $$ for a setup. I have some ski boots that I want to use for now. Anybody got recomendations for a good, cost-effective type of binding to look at?
