It was great to meet up with you as well! Too bad I didn't have a little more time earlier in the week. You will most likely pick up a wealth of knowledge at ATC. Cheers!

Hey Lydia, what time will you be there? Chair 6 will provide access to the best carving runs and we should be able to meet up with you. I will be there early, text me.

I should be there (after checking grooming report) at 830am, but will not be able to ride much later than 10am. Snow is not forecast until the afternoon.
-
I should be able to make it for a few runs early.

1876 is open and has been groomed consistently. Willy's Face is open, but has not been groomed regularly yet. Latigo has been the only groomed run linking to 1876.

Also, he is sporting the latest snow conveyance system construct from Coiler - The "Milla Killa".

Sounds great, but probably can't fit that into my schedule. Thanks for the invite and have fun!

My son's close friend, an accomplished half-pipe snowboarder, has very peculiar stance preferences in that if the board has bindings (e.g. snowboard, wakeboard), he rides regular; if the board doesn't have bindings (e.g. skateboard, wake surf), he rides goofy. That is really goofy!
Me... I started skateboarding at the age of 5 in 1966 on a "Hang Ten" board with metal wheels. None of us kids knew what to do other than what felt right. Left foot forward was what felt most comfortable, but I have been cursed with pushing Mongo ever since. Though I have learned to push with my right leg, I can push with more power using the left. Even though I am right foot/hand dominant.

Anyone hear anything here about builds starting?
I received notification that my MK was pressed on Wednesday. Not my usual outlook, but I'm okay with winter starting early this year.

I received the same notification and responded with a clarification that the order was for an MK and not the Proteus. Hearing this, makes me think that the MK is being logged into the Donek system as "161 Proteus".

I'm in... can't wait for the magic show to begin.

Closing day, the groom crew gave me a sweet gift by knocking down the bumps on Double Diamond, transforming them in to smooth corduroy. Mario's Trench-O-Meter was at 4.5.

David,
Looks like my schedule this week became filled up. I'm cutting out tomorrow to watch my son compete in SB slopestyle at Copper. Friday is booked, but I am planning to ride Beaver Creek on Saturday if you would like to experience less crowds on the weekend. How are you holding up?

Its in the game plan. Are you parking at Arrowhead?

I was at the Beav for a couple hours this morning and the conditions now are better than they were mid-to-late February. I hear it is supposed to warm up again this weekend though it should still be good when you are here. Vail just extended the season another week to the 17th. I might be able to join you for an early mid-week session. pm me your contact info. Paul

Having a board with single radius sidecut and less taper, like the Donek Proteus, also assists to complete a more C-shaped turn, reducing speed by pointing one back up the slope. The more taper that the board has, the more it will want to turn down the slope and run fast.

Zen and the Art of Breathing While Carving
in Carving Central
Posted
I find that grunt-screaming like Maria Sharapova works best to regulate my breathing properly while carving. Actually, as a beginning yoga student, I am learning the benefits of timing one's breathing along with the activity/exercise.
