  1. Any schools of thought out there for an experienced softie switching to hardbooting that support going with an older Burton boot like the Wind or Shadow? Would save about $400 over a new set of UPZ RC10's. How much of a difference would proper/new boots make for someone starting out? They're going on a 169 Prior 4x4 with SnowPro bindings. Appreciate any thoughts you can share for a beginner. Some say boots are the most important investment...? -Rob
  2. Just wanted to see if these guys were still for sale. Feel free to give me a ring at 310.210.1986. -Rob
  3. I would love these - just getting into the sport and need a pair by the end of the month. They're the perfect size - can I send you a check today?
  4. Nice, I'll mostly be in California at Mammoth and Tahoe with a few Big Bear weekends tossed in. It will be my only board, but don't want to invest in hardboots, bindings/plates and a 164 only to realize that I should have gone longer and stiffer. That being said, if the 168 race board is going to be a pain in fresh snow and no fun in crowds, then the 164 might be a better choice. How much difference do you think there will be between the two? Please do send pictures - I'm optimusrob (at) gmail
  5. Thanks Deadshred! This sounds worth consdidering, how would a board like that stack up against an Oxygen Proton 168 GS Race Board. Would it better to grab a used race board and grow into that, or is that setting myself up for a season of frustration?
  6. I've been riding/carving on softies for 10 years and have decided to take the plunge into a hardboot set-up since I'm a fan of big turns at speed and stay out of the park. I love to control on skis and am looking forward to getting going on an alpine board. I'm thinking anything from a 164-172, used - wear a MP29 boot. If anyone has a part or all of a used set-up for sale that would work, I'm all ears. I'll be riding mostly in California at Mammoth and Big Bear with the occasional Tahoe trip. Open to an older race board or an all mountain, feel free to weigh in since I'm a novice. I'm 5/11, 160lbs if that helps for board sizing... Thanks! -Rob
  7. Definitely interested, just posted a question about working with some Raichle 124 Hardboots - feel free to reply to optimusrob@gmail.com. Would love to get an alpine board setup.

  8. Definitely interested in complete set-up, would you recommend any of the above for a strong softie carver with a skier background looking to jump onto an alpine board? Would love to grab a board with bindings and plates already - would the boards work with the boots below? They're are Raichle 124 Hardboot Alpine Snowboard boots MP29. Here's the link if it helps - would love to get set up! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Raichle-124-Hardboot-Alpine-Snowboard-boots-MP29-US11-/150982754499?pt=US_Snowboard_Boots&hash=item23274600c3&_uhb=1
  9. Would these work with Raichle124 Hardboot Alpine Snowboard boots? Thinking of grabbing these, if so will need bindings! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Raichle-124-Hardboot-Alpine-Snowboard-boots-MP29-US11-/150982754499?pt=US_Snowboard_Boots&hash=item23274600c3&_uhb=1
