I think I might have to get these.....when you say three degrees is that both the front and back?

I had some problems with screw height and getting the base to tighten up on the elastomer on my set when I ran the cant.

Any issues there that you know of?

Not sure I understand the screw Height -  the plate to board uses the same screw no matter the Lift /cant/    The angle is in the aluminum base .

These Alum Bases qty 4  are the same with the 3 notches Fin machined in to designate the 3 Deg Angle if I remember correctly.

My new neighbor, a diplomat from Peru, has a 63.  It is sweet.  It is identical to one that I saw a German tourist driving on a small Danish island in the Baltic a few years ago.   I think the context is funny because it has traditionally been perceived as a domestic vehicle.  More and more, I see them elsewhere.

my tall and blonde 14 year old daughter loooooves them.   Very concerning ?

I think your daughter would look very good in a Carlisle Blue C6

I like the C7 a lot, except for the rear end. It's too much car for me though both for cost and performance.

I was looking to buy a C7 -- agree on the rear end -- it is ugly but also I don't fit in the cabin very well. So I bought the Grandsports you see above.. lots of leg room and a nice a** end.  :-)_

The C6s have Lots of power - nice riding touring sports car.

Hi Al, long time no see!

Don't worry, I'm not turning into a full time jib-monkey. I spent solid 5 hours riding steep softish moguls today :)

Hi back -- Was in Whistler last week on Blackcomb... the snow was great and since it was very cold everyone was in the Rendezvous or Glacier Creek.  had the lifts and runs to myself.

    cya sometime!

    Al

  6. My son Giorgio will turn one year in about 2 weeks and I'd like to take him along and dig some trenches together this coming season.

Has anyone ever carved with a young child in the back? Would love to hear your experience, particularly about any baby backpack or other contraption you have used and you would (or would not) recommend.

I hope you are kidding... I think it is a bad idea. I wouldn't even walk on snow or ice with a 1 yr old on my back.

  7. Someone here purposefully stored a board with it bent in the decambered position as a test. I recall no change, so do whatever's convenient for you.

I used cheap adjustable shelving rails and brackets (like this but much lighter-duty) to put the boards horizontally over some shortish storage shelves. I've got 5 boards and one plate stacked in about 2' of vertical space, could do more without bindings and making dedicated shelves.

My nightmare was always a board, which was standing on its tail against a wall, getting bumped and falling over. Both for the potential edge damage and for whatever it might hit up to and including my daughter. (!!) Up on the shelf, they just collect dust.

I do want to display a couple on a wall in the living room but haven't found a product I like yet.

that test was done by me-- many years ago on one of my favorite boards.. and you are correct no change.

it really does not matter how you store them if it is dry so no rust. A snowboard is a wonderful leaf spring... a good one at that -- kinda like a leafspring in a car/truck ... as long as it does not exceed its elastic limit it does not matter if it is stored horizontally and used as a book shelf or if you sit on it in hot weather drinking a beer is also ok.

  8. I don't like the C7 tail lights either, but I can't see them from the driver's seat. :) Haha, I never reversed the C7 or even looked backwards from inside! That reduction in visibility is a disappointing trend in many cars, but maybe GM wanted it to be like other supercars?

That C6 interior does look like a big step up from the C5s! Ok, I really want to try one of those too now... (I'm not buying a new car, I'm not buying a new car, I'm not buying a new car.) Thankfully I just had an awesome day at autocross in my S2000, so I'll keep it a while longer. :)

Have fun in that monster, Al!

Get out an drive one someday -- if you can find one try the GrandSport with a 6 Speed manual tranny, - The Grandsport handles like no car I have ever driven. And you are right about the interior upgrade from C5 to C6 -- pretty nice job Chevy did with all that plus it is so much quieter than my C5 was.

One thing I am finding out -- keeping the black Corvette clean and shiney is like having a high maintence girlfriend. :-0

  9. For several years I wondered how anyone could like a Citroen C5 enough to put it in a handle. I thought that it probably was not a Sinclair C5 as those probably never made it out I'm my country. Now I know.

Funny -- similar note - someone asked me years ago why I was into Explosives.. I said " Huh?" he said back - " C5 Handle" -- I replied - " I think that is C4"

  10. Corey - I was planning on buying a C7 -- went to drive one after driving a C6 GrandSport -- decided a C6 Grandsport was better for me due to a lot of less leg room in the new C7. the Console is so wide that my long legs were cramped to close to the steering wheel. And then I compared the view out the back window when driving -- the C7 has a nasty blind spot due to the very small back window. Plus I am not a fan of the use of Camaro tailights on a Corvette. :-) - some guys like them - I dont.
