car buying is just NUTS Crazy right now.. Girlfriend just bought a new Mazda CX5 -- around $3400 off MSRP , 90 days delay in first payment and 5 years financing at 0% interest. -

Take a look at what Hennessey did to the 2020 Corvette, - not quite sure what you do with that much power even if you are Tim the Tool Man Taylor

Both my Corvettes C6 Grand Sports are M6 -- fun to drive.. and the Mercedes is a 4 speed manual. I think it comes down to this : If you want a fun sports car to drive thru the winding mountain roads -- a manual is the way to go -- if you want to Drive as fast as you can on an empty road with no cops - then a DCT is the way to go. Too bad the Current Corvette Design team does not think this way. I hope my C6s last 20 years - then I will be 93 and probably have my keys taken away.

My Corvettes are still sleeping but they are starting to wake up now that the sun has reappeared. Golfing in the cold is starting to get old and need some warmer weather. But the new Mustang Electric -- it is butt ugly . googgle the photo of it - the back end is ugly.

Anyone heard of the new BMW X7 -- 609 HP V12 engine available. -- Hmmmm.. I can think of a few unsuspecting drivers getting themselves sideways real quick.. and I am not talking about being in debt.

I can't believe that person still has a job in the industry. The only uglier car on the road is the Prius, and they look related.
re: C7 rear end, I don't like the Katy Perry eye makeup around the tail lights, but I dig the four trumpets in the center.
Yea the Exhaust is ok.. it just the Tail Lights that get all negative comments about the C7. Most of the rest - Front views are great. And Except for these additions to 2014 C7. The direct Fuel injection - not sure this has been fully vetted to be a good thing for long engine life, The addition of the deactivation of 4 cyclinders , the 7 speed manual , 6 is plenty, the the biggest complaint of all us bigger guys -- the smaller cabin space - I feel like a sardine in a can when I am in the drivers seat of a C7.
Sadly, I think my 2013 C6 Grand Sport is my Last Corvette. Love the LS 3 engine. -

I just can't stand the Z3 coupe. Looks like a clown car to me. I heard a rumor that it was intentionally made ugly as an act of defiance by the design team.
Talk about Ugly by a design team... the rear end of the C7 Corvette is so butt ugly -- the Designer of this was the Designer of the Pontiac Aztek... so go figure.

IF you like cars and a bit of history with Jaguar -- Netflix has a wonderful piece about the Lightweight Race car they built in the 60's and are building 6 more around 2015. netflix it is labeled "Inside Jaguar"

The engine of a Tiguan, I drove from new to 70k, had to be decarbonized twice, in despite of good maintenance and high grade fuel I used. VW wouldn't honour the warranty and proclaimed that into "maintenance"
is that a Direct Fuel injection engine?? just curious cuz I hear that is one of the faults of that "new" design.

Since we are talking about the Z3 or Z4 BMW -- I would say the Z Model I like is the E52 BMW Z8 from 2003 -- wish I had one of those ... what a beautiful design.!!

What A4 are you thinking?? I can get a decent used A4 (Audi) for about CAD 10-12K... The SLK or Z3 for 5-10K...

Yes. I always wear a hat driving it, I am subject to sunstroke. But the whole point of owning a convertible is that the top gets dropped. Mazda says not to operate below 5C, so it is down above 5C unless it is raining. I don't understand people who buy convertibles and drive them top up all the time, even on nice days. Cops should be able to pull those folks over and ticket them for having no soul.
I just returned from Kauai -- where it rained at record levels... and it rained everyday -- most couples that were tourists had rented a Mustang Convertible.. they were everywhere and they all had the top down even in the rain... of course they did not care the inside got wet, its a rental!

I love the Vette, but it's not within the budget. One toy got sold, not that's what I've got to spend on another one. I could top it up only if we decided on a 4-seater convertible, like A4 or 328i.
You can buy a very nice C5 for 20K US and a much nicer C6 low miles critter for $30K -$35K US,.... pocket change if you are looking at a A4.

Boris - Have you guys looked at a C6 Corvette - you might just like that better than a high priced maintenance Euro Car. C6 AND C5s are very reliable, and possibly cheaper to own.
Plus the Corvette in C6 flavor is like riding hardboots... compared to driving something in high heels.. Enjoy!

Ok car nuts, who has owned, or has driven, both old Merc SLK and BM Z3? Pros and cons, ease and priciness of maintenance, weaknesses?
I have not --are they both not lady cars? Looks pretty feminine..:-)
-
if I could figure out to post a photo I would show a rust bucket of what is left of a 1956 190SL that is being sent to Germany and have the MB factory restore it.. seems like maybe 5% of the original car will be used. -
the owner must have very deep pockets.

Anyone know how the conditions are now.? I am coming that way Mar 7-11 - wondering if it is nice enough to bring my board to Bend. or just drink Beer.

Very nices Vettes C5. I Guess thoses are C6 ;) would love to try one.
Awesome Cayman Phil. The last gen seems incredible and the torque of the 4cyl turbo killer. Nice color.
yes - both are C6 Grandsports. - my name suggests a C5 but that was about 3 years a go when I switched. Had a Torch Red C5 coupe -- And bought a 2013 Black C6 when I sold the C5. Then I missed Red Corvette - so I bought another C6 GS - the Torch Red is a 2012 cuz I could not decide which color I liked the best.

Pretty much BS what you and Schwartz both did. I don't want anything to do with either one of you. We have all been here of well over ten years and you guys are acting like some cracked out shoppers at Walmart trying to buy 60 inch TVs for $149.......what a load.
Sorry Big Guy,, I tried to make it right..PLUS I was paying for your shipping on the other set . NEXT time I'd suggest you dont use the word "Might" - and say "I will take them", Thought you were going to be like Craig list buyers, all talk and no money. Been caught with the " I think I might want to buy syndrome too many times."
My Apologies.. but glad I did not do business with you..ya got quite an attitude!
