  1. YES TAKE MY MONEY! Count me in for Tremblant in April.
  2. I'm indifferent. I dislike both hills, so make a decision, Fortune or Edelweiss and I'll be there. Haven't been to Edelweiss in 15 years.
  3. I've been out about 40+ times this season and I can honestly say that was the worst riding conditions of the season. Felt like we were riding on iced over cement. However, great turn out, indoctrinated new riders into the group, and the cold beers made for a great evening. Lets do it again next week!
  4. ~50cm last week, they did have time to groom the Pow into the groomed runs but yes, it was a very soft ride. I traded the board in at lunch for planks, so I could play in the woods. Pretty fun day overall. The locals seemed pretty happy, they haven't had a lot of snow this year.
  5. I'm exhausted from riding at Sutton yesterday, but count me in for some lacklustre riding tonight.
  6. For anyone with Wi-Fi coverage at Cascade tonight. Ian, Ryan, Chris, and I will be a few minutes late, but we will be there! Slide on. b
  7. I'm Canadian, and as much as I like the Canadian gear, I wouldn't wear it. The US gear looks like someone over washed grandma's quilt in hot water......45 times.
  8. What Queequeg and Hilux said. Just rode a different board that wasn't brushed well enough, slower, no glide. Came home and brushed the bejeebers out of it, and re-rode, it was way better. It takes 5 extra minutes, why wouldn't you? Next time you wax your car, don't buff, see if you notice a difference.
  9. Dude?!? Call me, we can totally make those.
  10. Pictures to prove it! Fresh tracks, first tracks, and two people on the lift, me and mikel45. Good times.
  11. Still room available on the bus for Tremblant on Friday. Go to bytownskiclub for details. $75 for bus and pass. Come onnnn you know you want to skip work. Weather looks great.
  12. Going to Pak tonight, as with every Saturday night with the family in tow. Suspect Mikel45 will be there as well tonight and possibly Hilux. Conditions will be very Slooooow tonight which suits me fine, I've been out 8 of the last 11 days.
  13. Lets leave that to Ian. I'm only good for one turn at a time.
  14. -32C Limbo this morning. Super fun morning. The whole thing
  15. Not wishing to start a new thread on the same subject, I'll just tack on a post to the bottom of this one. I have a 9 year old son who has been snowboarding and skiing for ~7 years. He is very comfortable carving on both. I'd like to move him to a carving board soon, used hopefully, but I'm open to possibilities. Here are the stats: - He is ~65 lbs, 55 inches (140cm) Mondo (24ish) - We ride in Ottawa, narrow runs, firm conditions. - We have no interest in racing - I myself ride a 10m carving radius for tight controlled turns at medium to slower speeds. I'd like a board that promotes similar style for him. Any suggestions as to what size of board I should be looking at? Do they even make one? Or do I have to call Bruce at Coiler to make one? Any input would be much appreciated!
  16. Yup, I'll join the "love-in." An incredible night of carving by all, and I know I came away a better carver. (thanks Ian) If -30 is what it takes to keep the riff-raff off the hill then I'll take more of it. Thanks folks. b
  17. Installing the boot warmers as we speak and I'll be in the car in 15 minutes.
  18. I'll be there! Rode Pak this morning, incredible conditions, firm fresh cord throughout, and totally untouched. We were pretty much the only people on the hill. Even got to do some limbo with the line that separates the hill from the play park. :P Good times! Dress warm.
  19. Pak was awesome this morning; well groomed, a fresh layer of snow on top, and free face wash with every deep turn. Get out today if you can! Best conditions so far this year for me.
  20. Sorry for the late response, I always forget to check bomber. (can't go 30 seconds without checking twitter though) I'm in for Wednesday, Thursday works as well.
  21. I've seen that board in person and I didn't even notice that the CODA label isn't on straight... Crazy.
  22. Pak was garbage today. Groomed, but they just chewed up the ice into ice granules. Really fast with no edging. It might be "ok" for someone on a Coiler, but on my crap board it was survival surfing. I might try again tomorrow morning.
