  1. Fatbike in fishcreek on Saturday...oh, wait you mean 'boarding.

Hit Nakiska Sunday.  The top of gold was bullet proof...not ice (I found that in fish creek...need studded tires), but solid.  Once mapmaker levels out it got better.  No rocks.  Not a lot open yet in terms of runs...they need to get/make a lot more snow on the standard runs.

  2. A pair of Burton Reactors...always too narrow for me so never got a ton of use.  No cracks, no broken buckles, no missing parts.

See pics for a tear in one of the liners on the inside where I was trying to see if I could make some space.  Otherwise the liners are in great condition.

Someone needs to give them a good home.

SOLD to a very good home.

  3. Dropping off stuff to sell last night I went upstairs to take a quick look...I only checked out the longer stuff but there was:

    '00 167 19cm Factory Prime (with a 1/2 price sunday sticker)

    '97 167 18cm Factory Prime

~160 either Ultra Prime or Factory Prime (I didn't look close as the '00 167 grabbed my attention)

    Some with bindings.

I dropped off a '97 163 Alp (with the old performance bindings with rails) and some size 10 reactors (the purple ones).

Oh, and if you're interested in powder, someone dropped of a ~160 Khyber with a 26cm waist.  If it's actually a 165 I'd be tempted to split it...although the 170 would be better.

  4. Sigh, I get to join the club.  Season ended a few weeks ago when I went to drive into a toeside.  Wound up up washing out and slamming my side into the snow, with my arm up way too high (I really don't know why).  Shoulder went *pop*...partially torn pec tendon at the humerus.  Did I say sigh?

  5. School break in AB is that week for public schools.  Nakiska may just be a little crowded as everyone around bought a seasons pass, but it is the most popular place to carve (wide open, consistent pitch terrain).

Sunshine is more 'natural' terrain...funner for freeriding but you can find good carving runs.  Best snow IMHO.

Lousie is a fun place to carve, I find.  Snow not as nice.

Haven't been to Marmot in years so can't comment...

In the past few years our most wet months have been feb and march (in southern alberta)...I'm personally hoping we start getting some good dumps in feb...Dec and Jan have been pretty dry.
