In one day I got the typical monoski, skwal, and the funniest was euroski

A few years ago I arrived at Solitude and was getting out of my truck and noticed my friend digger, jr. and his wife parked nearby. A car full of snowboarders noticed their boards and said, "I think those are Skwalls," I snickered but explained him the difference when I pulled out my Coiler Nirvana.

  2. After my 2 hour drive to Snowbasin which normally takes an hour last Monday, waiting in the line for a shuttle from the parking lot I made some some small talk with a young man behind me. He looked me over and saw my Arbor A-Frame with Salomon Caliber bindings with a mild carving stance and asked, "How old are you?"

    "I'm 59."

He replied, "I hope I will be riding at 59 too!"

    Hey Drop,

Wondering about the year, flex and price of the Swoard?

    Thanks, Mike

That is a very good question. I purchased this from a fellow member. I have only put a few rides on it. Stiff camber as I am around the 200 lbs. range

P.S. There is one interested party ahead of you.

  4. The 2nd Board kit from the Monster has been sold.

digger jr. asked me question that I did not pick up on initially. "Is that a protective sticker on the Monster?" The picture showing the scratch in the middle of the top sheet I peeled back a little. There is a bright, shiny new top sheet underneath.

Debating whether to remove it or not? Thoughts?

I had an old, well worn 180 Donek Incline (maybe the 1st Incline of that length, called "the DelRossi"). It was a killer soft snow carver in hardboots. It was also good in powder and a great slush slarver too.

Mine had a single scr of 11m or 11.5m.

I missed buying the one for sale here several years ago when dropthebody got it.

Seeing it brought back memories, but I've moved on and am not interested now.

Just sayn', it's probably a good board.

I only had a handful of rides on it. I like to rotate my boards.

No, but my Kemper Apex does.

I'm riding it in my picture on a slushy pow day at Snowbird. Riding Salomon Malamute boots with stiff Salomon bindings and Palmer Risers.

Thanks for posting.  I’ve always felt that the telemark skiers’ skills are generally unnoticed and unappreciated by the majority of skiers.  Anyone agree/disagree ?  Haven’t been to Breckenridge in decades but they used to have telemark Santas there, stylishly skiing down black runs around Christmas time, some taking on moguls.  We’d always cheer on telemark Santa from the lifts.

Like my name says "Why drop a knee, when you can drop the body?" But, seriously, I enjoy watching a good telemark skier.

Brighton was awesome tonight.  Memorable evening, only got in just under two hours but so good.  Was dumping on the drive up.  Was worried it'd be too soft for the Contra but had a blast.  Right up til I was hustling for last chair and dug the nose in sharply and ended up augering... felt my front ankle pop in the boot 🥴

Called it a night and rolled back to the hotel.  Haven't taken off my compression socks yet, took some Vitamin I, and icing it now.  Headed to the Canadian Rockies on Sat - hopefully its good enough to ride with the kids by Monday 😅

Ouch! Had similar experience at Snowbird for a Company Ski day. On first run, started to lay down a few turns in flat light then hit a patch of ice and slid until the nose grabbed and cork-screwed me around. Had an ankle injury, minor but enough to end my day. I feel ya!

Board bag is at the hotel so I am a go for this evening.

I had that happen to me at Sugarbush in Vermont. Sent there on a business trip and my board didn't. Received call at 6 a.m. that they found it. Showed up at hotel at 3 p.m. I would have driven to get it.

Based on today's snowfall, I might want to consider bringing a powder board too? 🙂

That said, night skiing will be clearly all tracked out I would expect so just the Coiler will be the actual plan I think.

I'd say I have a Tom Burt Avalanche set up for powder. A little soft for me.
