aw heck, it was worth doing it last year, count me in for sunday:)

The first shot is of my beloved ZZR1200 about an hour after Bambi stepped out in front of it. July 2011.
The bike and I have since been rebuilt, but nowadays I seem to spend more of my time on the KLR 650. I used to think that was a Big Dual Sport until I saw the pic of dingbat's bike above:)

Gonna be in Ricon, PR. next week. The forecast looks small, but that's ok by me:) Newbie needs to take small steps!

Impressions.
White ribbons of death typical of opening days everywhere. Today all that was missing was a crowd. Turned out a few good turns before our legs went south. Amazes me how many people ignored the warnings posted that say no beginner trails are open...

Opening day 11/21/12
8am in the lodge!

Zsa Zsa will be missed here too. Fond memories of finally getting to visit Bomber years ago, only to be greeted by a pack of dogs, led by Zsa Zsa, waiting to lick you to death:)
Sorry for your loss:(

Just returned from my 1st trip to Rincon, Puerto Rico. Epic for a new surfer. Suddenly, Aspen Highlands doesn't seem so steep compared to a 10ft. swell at Maria's. The Road to Happiness exceeded expectations all around!!

Yea, Bruce said I was "on the List" a few years ago, Guess I should follow up with him.

Trying to make it up there Friday morning:) Season opener for me. Hope it goes a little better than the motorcycle thing... Have you seen any deer on the mountain?

Stare at this and say this mantra..... I am a fireman.... I AM the the KOBBE
You could of warned me....

McDougall captured an all to common sighting of Paul hard at work.
I'm sure his line was: "How you doing baby doll?":1luvu:
Paul your new nickname is going to stick.
What's the matter? Have you never fallen down as a good looking woman rides by on her snowboard?
(Tpalka is not going to like this:) )
Thanks for the picture Digger, it may be the only evidence that I was at Buttermilk friday..
To everyone else: Thanks for another great week in Aspen. I had a fantastic time with everyone I met. Hope we can all return next year and do it again!!

The carpool rolled in with Ct, Ohio, N Carolina and Wisconson around 3pm.
On the eve of the SES and all through the house, the drinks are flowing, the candy dish is out and the carvers are picking up their tickets. Old friends, new friends are all converging in Aspen tonight as the snow starts to pile up outside.
Wish you were here!

Finnaly got a connection for Wifi in our Condo..

Kiwis are SOOOOO cool! In a tough , no nonsense sort of way.
Heal quickly young lady!
+1
:)
p.s. the amputation party wasn't MY idea ;)

Maybe this one would work better for you? I really like most of milkman's videos that I've seen, but this one is my favorite.
I don't know how I ended up here, but damn glad I did.
Just found one of my favorite carving vids. Thanks TR for pointing it out:)
Cliff, thank you for providing the inspiration over the past 15 years or so.
It was a photo in Snowboard life, circa 1997 that had me hooked looking for the ultimate bottom turn. I'm sure I wasn't the first, and won't be the last to say thank you.
Wish you many good turns in the New Year!

So, I've got the week off between Xmas and NYE, first time in years.
I'll most likely have my 6 yo daughter in tow, she will go to ski school in the AM while I carve, then I will ski with her in the PM.
If you can swing the time off, I would do an "epic" road trip. Stay at Motels in White river Junction, Vt., Gorham NH, and St Johnsbury, VT. Day trip from the different hotels to a different local mountain each day.. with any luck she will bother you every year to do it over again.

I'm not sure whether that cheesy grin makes you look more like a dodgy real estate agent or a dodgy used car salesman?
But other than that, great pic Paul!
Thanks for all the great comments guys!
but Ok a few things....
The cheesy grin!? Is because I had completely blown the mark farther up the hill where Hubert the photogragher had told us to turn..
Trust fund kid?! They retouched the photo to hide all the duct tape holding my pant legs together.
The new red jacket!? Got it off the clearance rack(thanks Steph) after the old jacket literaly fell off during ECES.
Back to the cheesy grin.... I love this sport!!!
Sorry you didn't recognize me Kinpa, it has been too long!
They say its all down hill after 40...
Guess as soon as the collarbone heals up, we'll find out!
See everyone at SES!

Paul, was it displaced much? I did a number on mine a few years ago. Even with a plate I was still recovering at 12 weeks. It happened at the end of March (snowboarding), so luckily I had all summer to heal for the next riding season. Hope you have better luck with recovery time, else it'll be SES before you're cleared. :)
No plate for me. It has been almost two weeks now, and I'm taking off the sling for to do things like type. Seems to be setting up on its own, and not moving around anymore.
Glad you guys are getting some turns in already, keep the new video coming! I've already exhausted my supply of ECES, Big Mtn., and SES video's at home!!!!
SEE you at SES, do or die..
