Flux received... Disappointed... I ordered a board with the "ready to ride tune" addon : not waxed, no tip/tail edge detune... I ordered a board with the "secret construction" addon : impossible to know if it has been built with that or not... Custom board, but not what I ordered !!! For such a high price, I am really disappointed

I ride in the Alps (France). It could be very steep ! I have a good level, 20 years of snowboarding, aggressive ride, speed and carve...

@Jack M@dredman I am about to finalize my order (donek flux ~168cm). The Flux without customization comes with 8.5-10m SR. I would like a bigger SR for high speed carved turns. I am wonderring if I should go with 10.5-12m SR to keep the 1.5m standard difference between max/min or if it would be better to reduce this difference to 1m (10.5-11.5m or 11-12m).

Regarding variable sidecut radius, is it better to have a big difference or a small one ? 10m-12m (2m) or 10m-11m (only 1m)

Hi @pegtal I try to ride during the weeks there is the less people. I ride essentially on big domains, with larges pistes. A typical day is 60km of downhill. Lot's of high speed runs.

@dhamann The standard construction of the Flux is damper than other boards (Incline) with rubber reenforcements. You think the secret construction addon would bring even more and is a good choice ? @Jack M You wouldn't go with a larger sr ?

@dhamann I think : 75% high speed gs carves 15% trying extreme carve and "c" shaped carves 5% powder 5% play with border of pistes

Thanks ! Lot's of things to think about !!! I use to ride with a 63cm duck stance. Have you an idea of the corresponding value if I go with a double positive stance ?

@staples156 What are the spec of your Flux ? (length, radius, reference stance) How tall are you ? And weight ? Did you take the standard flex ? And what about secret construction ?

@nextcarve I already tried forward stance, but I really prefer duck stance (around -9 / +24). I am 43 years old, 190cm 100kg, I am not a freestyler, even if I sometimes like to play with the border of the pistes. I love high speed runs, with carved turns. I want to improve my carving to extreme carving. A typical day is about 50km of downhill, max speed 90km/h. When it is possible (conditions ok), I love powder. But this is rare... I like to make little jumps on the piste during the ride (slope break or little bumps). Icy conditions, with steep pistes, I like to hard engage and play with the limits.

Nota : Donek info "A flux in 162cm length is typically going to have a variable sidecut radius that starts at 8 1/2 m in the shovel and progresses to 10 m in the tail."

Actual boards (waist 28.4cm) : Never Summer Proto FR 166DF and Elan El Grande 171 Boards I tried : Swoard Dual 2 175 (too flex, not enougth stiff), Nitro Pantera 169 wide (not enougth stable at high speed) Waist width 28.4 is really not enougth for big carve turns. Boot out !!!

Very aggressive ride, with lots of big high speed runs on pistes. Carving and try to improve extreme carving. Few switch, just when needed (technical passages) or when trying 180 jumps for fun (rare, I am too old for it !). Powder when the conditions are ok (rare). I am looking for a very stable board at high speed, able to help me deep carve, and keep ability on difficult passages. 31cm This is what I precised on Donek forms : Aggressive ride, need extreme stability with high speed, want to improve carving. Not a freestyle rider, I prefer big runs on pistes and I love powder when possible (but rare). Switch is not what I'm looking for, only exceptionnaly when necessary (difficult passages). Love to play with limits on icy steep pistes. My soft boots are EU48, tail angle -12 or -9, nose angle +18 or +21. Need a very wide board due to the lenght of my boots and low angles

I am in touch with Sean, the current sizing is 165cm with 9.5m/11m radius for a 30.2cm waist width. I would like to go with 30.5cm at the waist. This could be possible increasing the radius up to 10m/11.5m OR reducing the board length down to 161cm. Regarding this choice, he cannot advise me... nor for the maximum radius... So, I try to get riders feedbacks !

@dredman Thanks for your proposition to try your secret construction board, but I live in France... There, I do not have opportunities to try such boards ! So, I do really appreciate your advices, feedbacks and points of view... I have to choose with that ! And, delivery and customs fees are expensive, so I can't order and sell if not ok to order another board... I have to make the good choice at the first time !

@dredman @Jack M Thanks !! I think I will order a Flux in the next few days... I would like to have the maximum waist width to avoid booting out (soft boots, EU47, low angles), so I have to reduce the board length and/or increase the sidecut radius. What do you think is better / less worst ? Reducing board length or increase the radius ? What would be the minimum board length and the maximum radius you could advice me ? I am 190cm and around 100kg.
