Whistler is still hard packed, and snowing right now.

is the carving season over? Even the alpine area of Whistler was slushy since the very morning. feels like time to bring out my freestyle sticks

I'm also riding tomorrow (and on Sunday), if you see me please say hi haha. Wearing either a full white/silver or full blue outfit, might be riding exhibition or OSV into 5 mile, if accompanying my girlfriend who is learning to carve.

Spent 2 awesome days at revy. @crackaddictshowed us around and on the first day and we filmed some clips together. One of the best groomers day I have ever ridden plus happy to learn from the best carvers. Next three days are going to be at Lake Louise for my CASI 3, hoping to pass riding and teaching this time. After that it'll be 2 days at Big White...

Whistler is getting consistent temp below 0C and the snowguns are working at their best, today was not too bad, considering that there hasn't been much natural snowfall. Alpine runs suffered less from the freezing rain (and just rains) in the past week or two, from what I've heard they are very carve-able

Yeah I should have went to the bunny hill to say hi, didn't know there was another run until I was leaving. I might not be going to Manning again in the near future, there is not enough snow at the moment and I have trips planned for the coming month...But I did manage to get some turns on the covered parts of the run. Maybe I'll see you on Whistler later this season, if you are heading back to Vancouver? It was a great bluebird day, some icy patches but overall very good condition. The snow guns are at full blast, even managed to pile some kickers on the green run under Emerald chair.

So so much rain in Vancouver again, temperature should be dropping on Thursday. Whistler not looking too good either, let's see how my Wednesday trip will go. Thinking about going to Manning this weekend. To get away from whistler crowd and enjoy some quiet groomers.

Wish I could go, was up on Cypress the other day and sadly found out my employee pass is not working anymore. Says "terminated employee" when scanned. One of the reasons for me to apply to Cypress was training sessions, luckily I still have pass for grouse in days when I don't feel like going to whistler.

Probably mid~late Feb actually, I have CASI level 3 exam at Lake Louise and am thinking about swinging by Rev for a few days before / after.

been riding a few times, seem to be fine as long as I stay on the snow. No big jumps, no pain. Also found this on youtube that's a very detailed explanation, loved it when he said there are so many videos on the internet made by people that can't even carve on blacks

spent new year holiday time at sun peaks & big white, mostly on green runs teaching friends. Still recovering from injury... Snow was good, so much better than the last time I was at whistler, and obviously better than the 3 local resorts.

Looks like Manning has announced the opening date, Dec 22, with 61cm of snow on the top. My recovery from that crash at Whistler 3 weeks ago is faster than expected and I might be able to ride again in January. It's been tough sitting at home scrolling through social media and watch others ride.

Unfortunately I got into an accident a few days ago and broke my pelvis. The Doc said I should spend at least 2 weeks resting, and no snowboarding for 6-8 weeks. After come communication with the snow school, we have come to the conclusion that since I will not be able to attend the on-snow orientation, I won't be working at Cypress this winter anymore

It's been really cold, going to Lake Louise Nov 11 to kick off my season. Local mountains are not likely to open until late Nov or early Dec?

Hi Levi! Thanks for the input! Maybe I was very lucky with my Sasquatch trip then, but I definitely loved the open empty runs; I should plan some visits to Manning and Apex this season. Baker is a bit too far for me, Whistler is my go-to for big mountain and freeriding, but I've heard that they have crazy snowfall. You got me excited about the upcoming training sessions at Cypress with @BlueB, if I happen to go to Manning I'll look for you Hi Boris, I'll 100% be at some of those upcoming carving training sessions. In fact, I might have seen you riding a few times last season at Cypress, because alpine boarders are pretty rare up there. Looking forward to meet you on the slope!

Hi BlueB! I will be working at Cypress starting from this season, and the orientation is still a month+ away, I believe. It's great to see someone from Cypress as well, my name is Sirui and you could expect to see me a lot in the coming season haha.

Hi everyone, I recently found out about this forum and would love to make some friends here & learn more about carving. 22-23 was my first season carving in alpine stance, and my second season for carving-focus snowboarding in general (softboot). I ride at Whistler and Cypress most of the time, since I got a student pass for cheap at Whistler and work for Cypress. However, the unpredictable coastal weather has got me thinking about finding another resort that is still in a day-trip distance from Vancouver, with has consistent tempreture and big open groomed runs. I have heard good things about Apex and Manning, but didn't have a chance to visit yet. Sasquatch in March was suprisingly good when I visited. Happy to join, hope we all have a good season, and look forward to your replies. P.S. Video attached for critiques and advices
