Don, thanks for mentioning in earlier post about turning Catek plates 45 degree.
Okay I'm now officially stoked . . . the OS-2's are now installed on the Volkl monocarver.

From reading general carving community forum, the opinions suggest that the OS2 bindings exert substantial "lever" pressure to pull-out inserts or delaminate metal boards. What is the scoop with Catek OS2 bindings?

I really like Catek OS 2's . . . I highly recomend the Catek OS 2's.Don, can you help me out. Like you I also have a Volkl monocarver and a pair of un-installed Catek OS2 which I would like to mount on the Volkl. In a earlier post you mentioned turning Cateks 45 degrees to fit the inserts on the monocarver - yes? Also, the Catek baseplate is wider than the mono, what did you do - cut the Catek baseplate or mount as is with overhang? Any other suggestions to get these puppies on the board would greatly be appreciated - thanks!

obi one; enjoy
... and looking forward for the upcoming season : )
Obi, great video, best one yet for newbies like myself to view technique, e.g. bike stance and pull back shoulders upon initiating turns.Comfortable with speed, big problem here (eastern canada) is finding suitable wide terrain. Thanks also for bring the thread back to life. -

Looks like a SIMS Burner Split Tail, maybe 197 amongst them? Anyways here is the blurb: "5 different boards in new or like new condition and 2 sets of bindings will sell individually or all together for best reasonable offer". This is just a alpine community service announcement (ALSA), so contact seller directly via. All the best!

"Volkl Ren Tiger 168 Giant Slalom Alpine Snowboard. This board is used, but not heavily. It has some wear and tear some from use and some from storage. There is one larger scratch near the tail, but it is not deep. The base is in great shape, the edges are a little rusty, more rusty at the very top of the nose. All this board needs is a tune up from the ski shop and it'll be ready to go. Please email me with any questions. This is a great board for a alpine rider, if you know one please pass this ad along...."Not associated, contact seller directly via

Translation: "Alpine custom board made by Kessler in 2011, the model currently used in the World Cup. 2 seasons of use, yet full of energy for someone wanting to try a board or top level would start racing. Still a lot of edge! Deal not to be missed"Note: not associated in anyway, contact seller directly from the Kijiji link below:
