    I think it all depends on your level of aggression. The newer ones seem even stiffer (I would ask @slopestar since he's far more knowledgeable than me).

    I am slightly lighter than you and really appreciate the 161 but I'm also a much more timid rider.

    Please don't flame but I'll take a bad day in CO over a good day in the NE.

    Loveland on a bad day still has much better snow and way more terrain than Killy. 

     

    That being said I've always considered days on the snow as good days.

    Still pretty light coverage. Not much more than Fire Bowl/T. Creek. Firecut is open but not really good. Give it a couple of storms.

    I'm going to change my opinion based on new data...

    This sidecut is awesome! There's something about it that I can't quite put my finger on but the way it hooks up and then releases is addicting! Yes, it's turny in the 166cm and ~10m radius but it's not hooky and definitely stable at speeds. The more I ride it the more I like it!

    I'm tempted to go up tomorrow. I figure it's going to be a zoo anyway so if I can get in 2-3 runs it's a win.

    Besides, I could always relocate to the lift 3 lot and get some more runs...

    Guys, snowboards please not politics. Can we just talk about the Contra?

     

    Like how I am completely conflicted with this board. Sometimes it's the greatest thing since this bread-slicing app I just downloaded on my iPhone and sometimes I really just want to cry.

    I rode it Friday and while I admit that I sucked more than usual I had moments where it hooked up and was really really fun. I do find it more eager to complete turns than a racing board like the VSR or the REV. Flexier too but the overall impression of my 166 A/T is TURNEY!!! It's not a F2 SL 162 type turney (or MADD type turny for that matter) it's way more mellow than that especially on the nose or tail. But once you get it to bend in the middle it hooks up and turns so quickly! It's really fun!

    I finally made it up there! And meh...

    I seem to be inflicted with the same meh that's going around. Met up with the Slopestars and took a couple of runs with Katie and Julia, then did another run with Lance. The snow was excellent and the mountain was really empty for the first hour.

    The problem is me. Just not feeling this season yet. Honestly I'm enjoying softboots much more. I hope to end this curded year, put it back where it belongs and start enjoying 2021!

    Do I want to drive 2 hours each way for 4 runs...? Gawd I hate 2020.

     

    Glad you made it up there tho!

     

     

    EDIT: Well that plan didn't last long. Work had to intrude. Why the hell would you schedule a meeting (an important one, no less) the day before Christmas?!? Gawddamn grinches!

    I guess I'm back to planning on Friday. Told you I was unreliable!

    I'm thinking the same. I hope the weather and impending Christmas will suppress the number of patrons but it probably will mean nothing.

    Anyway don't take this as me saying I'll be there. These days I'm less reliable than a McDonalds Ice cream machine...
