Virus boards don’t actually sell that fast in general. Very view people are willing to pay so much money for a “snowboard”.

Only the ones who tried a Virus and got infected. So be careful :D

In this case, the Dragster is a 2000 model (so almost 5 years old) and Larry never used it and wanted to get rid of it…

the price was very good. The Dragster is not the best carver, but more an all-terrain board designed for BX racing…

Ray, did you get the boots dialed in or did you have to amputate your leg in order to get them to fit right???

No amputation, but it seems the new UPZ boots are just not made for my funky feet

I will give it another try next week. My bootfitter wants to see if a different liner would be the solution...

But my feeling is they will end up in the classified section as well pretty soon. Oh boy :(

  3. In your case, you might really need a fully foam-injected liner used for ski boots.

A "good" bootfitter can actually also take the liner apart and fill the gap between

the heel pocket (injected foam) and the calf with additional liner padding. This will

create extra (needed) stability and fill the "hole" between your high sitting calf and

the heel pocket where the heel (foam) pocket ends.

Anyone wanna join me carving in Mammoth after Thanksgiving?

There are not a lot of carvers out there. People still think I lost one of my skis on the way down when they see me waiting in the lift lines.

    See ya.:p

    Wolfman, first post, WELCOME!

Many of us go to Mammoth quite often. You are correct, not really a lot of carvers up there,

but some are really good... we always have a great time...

Would be a pleasure to ride with you! Will be there Thanksgiving... See ya!

However, how small of a sidecut can I go until I am sacraficing stability at higher speeds? Is 9.9m on a 166 too small a sidecut or should I push that a little to 10.5? Is that even enough of a difference in sidecut to matter? Should I keep the sidecut and push the board length a few centimeters for more stability?

I hope that I am thinking about this right and I thought I would pose this to the forum and glean some information off all the smart people here. Your help and knowledge is extremely appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ben,

It looks kinda funny, because I am selling my POGO Impact right now, but

I don't know how tall and heavy you are, but am pretty sure you find exactly what you are looking for...

AFAIK as I know, my WCR is one of two baords, that were not shipped to Japan :p :p and believe me: It's incredibly good! The boots work fine with my moderate binding angles (55/60 R/F), I love the super secure feeling in these boots. The spring stiffnes is o.k. for me as long as I keep pushing powerfully, but little to hard when I want to do some freeride style. What I believe, I can feel is: I'm in boots designet for Racing on a board designed for GS but not in the 17cm range. It works :)

One additional point to my flex-posting: IMHO you need some for proper weight shift along the board axis (longitudinal). This is, what I wanted to point out. Furthermor a wider stance is possible, if you have some lateral flex between board and boots, which improves control in laid down turns. Again only my 2 ct

    Tom

    Vielen Dank Tom!

Good info. I will give it a try and ride my .900 with the Terminator this weekend.

IMHO lateral flex should not been provided by the boot, it should only care for forward/backward mobility and ancle support (and all that can be called comfort and fit). With stiff boot shells, lateral flex can only appear between top sheet of board and surface of boot sole. So either you need bindings with huge lateral flex or a boot/binding-interface with lateral flex. I only can achieve this with standard bindings with bails.

    my 2 ct

I like the fact that you can step in and out really quick with the step-ins, but skywalker has a very good point here.

Lateral flex is a very important factor. The stiffer the boot the more lateral flex your bindings should provide.

I think it comes down to personal preference (again) .

Skywalker, how is that Northwave boot working with the VIRUS WCR? I have that same boot, but never used it in such a combination.

  9. POGO Impact Alpine / 168

This could be your best opportunity to get a great custom board handmade in Germany for some substantial savings.

You will save 90 Euros ($120) on shipping cost, about $100 of import tax, and of course the reduction on the board itself

The reason I am selling my almost new POGO Impact Alpine / 168 is simple,

I am planning to have a new board custom build for me, so one has to go (actually two, the SWOARD as well).

The board is in NEW condition! Only used it for a view days at the last SES.

If you just considering this opportunity a bit, you have to read this:

    About the board:

    http://www.pogo.biz/shop/product_category_displayE.php?cPath=24_42&language=en

And especially about the construction and the company

    http://www.pogo.biz/constructionE.php

    http://www.pogo.biz/philosophyE.php

    Enjoy!

    Ray

Buyers beware, this board is not a toy :D
