Back in town so Im keeping an eye on things for this weekend.

Bobby! So sorry I didn't see this earlier. I haven't been keeping up on this forum.

Someone else was in town this weekend and graced us with his biennial appearance. Here's a hint. You may recognize his Coiler:

  2. What's the trick to post photos? Apparently, it was so easy in the past I did it without thinking about about it. There doesn't appear to be an obvious way to include an attachment other than linking to an existing attachment or URL.

How do you include a photo directly in a post?

  3. I have my pass which I got at the end of last season. I can't wait. I'm typically only there on the weekend as I'm in Boston during the week. Although I will typically take Monday's off to make a three day weekend.

Wow! This is great. How do the measurements for length from the app compare to previous length measurements you've made manually?

  5. I answered "Local pitch available but too narrow or too steep." However, I don't think pitch came into play for me taking so long to discover carving. There was always some pitch available somewhere to learn.

For me, it was not even knowing about the existence of carving on hardboots that was the major blocker.

So 5 years later and I still love this board. I only got out 2 days this year and both times I didn't most of the day on this board. It did everything I asked if it until my legs died. Can't go wrong with one of these.

Bobby, you still RIP on this board! One thing that impresses the hell out of me, is that when I'm following you on my Pure Boarding TWO 158 with 9m sidecut radius, you can turn fast and TIGHT! Crazy tight. I'm on a 9 meter SCR board and I have to be on it to follow you down the mountain and match your turns.

This is also true for your other Coiler VSR board. Both of the Coiler VSR boards you ride are 171-175 cm in length with larger sidecut radii than my little 158 at 9 meters and it just doesn't seem to matter to you.

And you've only been out 2 days this season?? Thanks for putting the rest of us to shame. I have some work to do, my friend.

Tugboater, I think you need to bend your knees some more and get your shoulders more square to the hill. Particularly on heelside you are breaking at the waist and your shoulders are rotated back too much. Your shoulders should at least be lined up with your toes.

Agreed. @Tugboater, after seeing you ride in person yesterday and looking at your video more closely, two simple things that might help get you in a better position on heelside turns:

    1. Try touching your left knee or left boot with your right hand. You absolutely need your right hand in front of you.

    2. Look farther into the turn. WAY UP into the turn. "Look up to hook up"

I posted some more details in the Beast 2019 thread.
