  1. That sucks ... Why I try and get stuff shipped to places I will be in the US.

In other sucky news; looks like the hills are closed in the evenings now. No more night skiing. Although the interview with Camp Fortune this morning on the CBC said they think they might be open late April / early May just because of the cold weather.

  2. Driving to Orillia on Friday and was thinking of putting in a few hours at Calabogie first thing (well, after the rush hour mess). On-line tickets are $25 (plus taxes), regular they are $27.50 at the mountain for weekdays. Anyone interested in joining me? I will probably leave the hill around lunch time so I can make it to Orillia before dark.

    Let me know

  3. A huge thank you to Bomber and everyone who helped with SES 2015, the demo tent people, the board manufacturers, the clinics, the photographers and videoographers. The weather was perfect, and despite the lack of snow it was an amazing seven days. I really loved trying to keep up with everyone and learning from everyone. I am already excited fro SES 2017, I can't believe I have to wait two years.

  4. hey Tabatha i gonna be going to MSLM on the weekend as well

Monk; Looking forward to meeting you on Saturday. We usually aim to be there for first chair lift and often end up on Promonade on the Moonstone side of the hill. Depending on what is left in my legs after SOS, I might be riding slow ... but my excuse is that I am hanging with the sister!

  5. Tuesday was GREAT. Nice to see some of you again ... been too long. Can't wait to see others.

I have an offer for everyone; if you have small stuff you need from Bomber and can order before Feb 4th, I can bring it back from Colorado with me. Let me know if you are planning on ordering and how big what you need is and I will confirm I can bring it back. Saves you on shipping. When ordering, just let Michelle know I will bring it back for you.

Hope to see more of you next week (or even Sunday night?)

  6. Hey Dingbat, was chatting with the boys yesterday about Mt. Blanc - not going because of SOS which is the same weekend. I chose SOS because it is close to family (not that you are not all my family too) and I want to see my sister and get her out onto the hill for a day. She has promised to hit MSLM with me on the Saturday which is exciting. You not coming to SES????

  7. Ali,

Welcome to Bomber and welcome to carving.

There is actually a great group of people who ride MSLM. I try and ride ther whenever I am around (next date Saturday Jan 31st) ... There are a few local riders on the hill who are better connected than I when it comes to gear.

A place to watch might be: http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/topic/38676-mslm/

I post here when I am trying to see what is happening at MSLM.

Also; there is an event on Friday Jan 30th - details here: http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/topic/40878-southern-ontario-session-2015-you-should-come/

Good luck and looking forward to riding with you

  8. Hello!

I have my plane tickets booked. I have a way of getting to Aspen, somewhere to stay and a sweet deal on a lift pass. But I have no way of leaving Aspen.

Does anyone have space for a (small) person and a (very large) bag from Aspen to Grand Junction anytime on Saturday Feb 14th? I am totally felxible on depature times on the Saturday although would prefer earlier ... even willing to leave after the banquet on Friday if you are that keen to drive!

DM me or e-mail me at tabatha dot soltay at gmail dot com.

Thanks and looking forward to riding with everyone.

  9. I have become a total princess and HATE riding on weekends. Easiest way to avoid people is to not ride on days when they are out. I also never ride with music so I can hear what is coming up behind me ... because even when you look around, things can sneak up on you! I like the run to myself - muppets on the slopes make me nervous. It is great that so many people are getting into winter sports and teching their buddies, but it means that few people have really heard of the skiers code or understand that there is etiquette on the hill.

I live in fear, but part of the rush is returning alive and doing it again the next day.

And Lowrider is right; it is so cold here that if you hit  someone (or something) you would break.
