  4. SOLD. 3. intec adapters for F2 carve rs bindings, $50 shipped
  5. Hello everyone. Well, I wanted to try carving but it didn't work out for me. I just couldn't get comfortable with the high angles. This year I finally went to TLT 6s and a splitboard and finally discovered my niche. I converted the F2 bindings on my solid board from intecs to the standard and now I can ride my AT hardboots on both my solid and splitboard in the duck[ish] stance that I'm comfortable on. FOR SALE 1. SOLD UPZ rc10 hardboots, size 27, cream colored, $250 shipped The top half of both boots have turned a slightly different color than the bottom halfs, clearly visible in the pics. http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/bootsforward_zps07e0901f.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/bootsfrontside_zps7fa17265.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/bootsbackside_zps57c28e9a.jpg 1b. included liners. These things were so tight when I got them that I actually took about a 2 mile hike in them to break them in. They have some wear. The tongue strap on one liner is broken and on that same liner, the heel part has been shoe gooed. THERE ARE NO INSOLES, I was using green superfeet and am not parting with them. http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/wholeliner_zpsaa0ff5d5.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/linertonguestrap_zpsf1d6a163.jpg http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/linersole_zps7047b324.jpg SOLD 2. Fintechs, $50 shipped These are fine but do have some use and that use is clearly visible on the bottom side. Perhaps I should have flipped them over too and taken a pic but I'm not ready to put everything on hold now that I've just thought about it... http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/fintechs_zpsb55b1d52.jpg SOLD 3. intec adapters for F2 carve rs bindings, $50 shipped I bought the bindings in the intec version, then eventually bought the standard parts and am now using those bindings on my solid resort board with my new TLT 6 AT boots. If you have the carve rs standard bindings and want to convert them to intec, these are the pieces you'll need. http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/intecadapters_zps603209bf.jpg SOLD 4. UPZ boot ski sole adapters, $25 shipped I wanted these boots to be my one boot quiver, so I bought the adapters. I've used them a bit; the boots have terrible balance while walking with the super short sole, and with the fintechs on they have terrible balance for walking AND they slide. So I got these. For some reason, I can't seem to find the screws for the front part of the soles. As seen in the pics, all the screws are there for the rear parts. http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/k586/xnatex2/upzbootskiadapters_zpsab1324dd.jpg My user profile on ebay is nate22778. Perfect feedback. I prefer paypal minus the fees option but if you want the extra security, you pay the fees. I'll send them out with a tracking number. This is all quality stuff and I was tempted to hold on to it for whatever the future may bring, but I also like things to be used for whatever they were intended for instead of just sitting and gathering dust. So here they are.
  6. Just checked and mine don't do that.
  7. Thanks gents, much obliged. That stomp-pad up yonder is the one I've been giving the evil-eye to. Reckon I'll have to make my peace with it.
  8. Hello everyone. How do you all handle the snow and ice buildup on fintecs? I keep a not-so little tool on me and I generally have to smack the ice and snow off of them every chairlift ride up. Annoying as hell, 'specially when it's freezing and I've got to pull my hands out of my lobster mitts. And any little walk in powder conditions means I'm not clicking in without cleaning them. Kinda detracts from the ease and convenience of having them. Is there a better way? Also, those fintecs are slippery as hell. I love being able to click in right off the lifts without stopping, but some lifts are funky, meaning either steep and / or immediate turns required. In those situations where I can't click in right away, the rear fintec just don't allow me to control the board. It slips and slides on the board and I disembark all gook-like. Serious steez reducer. I'm about ready to throw the mother of all spiny stomp pads onboard, but the thought gives me great pause. What to do, what to do? Hell, what do all of you do? - Nate P.S. Saw a license plate frame today at the local lifts. "When hell freezes over, I'll ski there too." Awesome.
  9. I started snowboarding late, 'bout 25 (poor childhood), never seeing any hardboots or having it register if perchance I did. Started slobbering over the Burton Fish and the realization of what snowboarding could be - so much different than the teeny knobs I called mountains out east. Stumbled across PhilW's site by reading Fish reviews and was totally blown away. That dude had it made in so many ways. Heliboarding the way I drove down to my local resort. And his writing came across powerfully, as someone who had self actualized. Except that he rode hardboots. What the f#$%? How could someone like that be so clueless? So after I pondered that question for a while, then swallowed my pride, I realized that I might be the one missing out. Here's hoping I can replicate his vertical in my own heli experiences. He's got a couple of decades on me though.
  10. Perhaps the biggest hurdle getting into hardboot snowboarding is getting past the cool factor. Being older makes that easier. Having $$$ to drop helps too. I'm a relatively young 33, and I love getting older. Gives me more of what I want. Just hoping I can kick the bucket before my body craps out on me. Obviously I have no kids that would want to make me hang around after my passions have become inaccessible.
  11. Picked up a pair of RC-10s about a month ago and had been concerned about mounting Fintechs because I'm mechanically retarded. I was hesitant about drilling stuff and putting t-nuts in - I preferred a boot that was pre-assembled. Life itself made the decision for me - the only hardboot available in my size were the UPZ RC-10s. And without much time to spare before the off-season price jumped back up to full retail, I pulled the plug. Much to my surprise: the boots arrived, I pulled out the liner, and low and behold - tnuts and a perfectly sized Fintec cable hole! Woo hoo:1luvu: Put those Fintechs in easy as could be. No tools, no mess, no regrets.
  12. Wow, awesome help guys! Corey, I will definitely make sure to check that the toe pieces fit my bindings before shelling out the cash. Thanks for the heads-up! If there's any doubt, I'll stick with the 225s. Ursle, I had no idea the process is that simple. I will look into doing it myself (should the toe pieces mentioned above work out) but if I get scared off, I *will* drop you a message. What's a little bit extra cash to make sure everything is correct after dropping so many hundreds on boots alone. Not complaining though, just truly, truly *!*grateful!*! that I too can -finally- enjoy this ride! Thanks again all, your help has been priceless. - Nate
  13. Howdy folks. Been lurking and learning for some time, preparing for my inevitable jump into hardboots. The stars have aligned and this season will be it. I wanna go Fintec heels on UPZ's new ATB (All Terrain Boots). Initially I was planning on the 225's because I had the impression the Fintecs were a straightforward installation on those boots (meaning I could do it myself even though I'm not mechanically gifted). Given the choice though, I'd rather go the ATB route and get the Fintecs professionally installed. Where/how can I get Fintecs installed by someone who knows what they're doing? How much will it cost? Planning on being a freecarver; easy-entry/learning curve. Will try to end up on a Prior AWD a little later in the season. Until then, I'll just throw the F2 Intec RS plates (already bought) on a Ride Timeless. No need to rush, I expect this passion to last a lifetime and I wanna do things right (for me, as everyone differs and soft "hardboots" are not to everyone's preference). Thanks. -Nate P.S. Will be calling Kirkwood my home mountain this season. Woohoo!!
