  1. IF the terrain is mellow and you want to EURO carve all day for the chicks on mellow terrain- the Swoard is the board. If Eurocarving suits your style- ride the Swoard. IF you have the unfortnate occassion of spending $70 on a lift ticket and find yourself on narrow trails in the East on Frozen granular don't get even....get Madd.

I found that Euro/EC works best on very steep slopes, not on mellow terrain. Even on steep icy slope around here, it still works. Hard to lay it down completely on mellow terrain if you are trying to link those EC turns. I would agree that EC does impress the younger "chicks" (not my wife somehow !!).:D

  2. Wondering for those who know Aspen area, where are the best slopes are to practice a litte EC/ Eurocarve/ Eating snow carve, ie well groomed (so not to dislocate shoulders  ), relatively steep (less distance to the snow :D ) and very WIDE (I'm still a big beginner when it comes to that part of the sport ;) ).

    Thanks for all replies.

  3. Thinking about getting my 6 yo on his first board. Can I use his ski boots on a regular (freeride/freestyle) kid size snowboard. I've got the bindings? I want him eventually carving of course.

    Any suggestions?

I don't want to spend a fortune on new gear that he may hate after a few sessions. Can't rent carving set up for adults let alone kids.

    Thanks.

  4. I'm one of those cross over. Started when I tried the Elan SCX, one of the earliest and most radical sidecuts back then. Then switched to plates. Now I ride plates when I'm on my own and use the shaped skis when with my kids (easier to control and drag them along) but still able to make deep trenches and high Gs. Esthetically, carving low on boards does look much nicer, more like carving a wave (monoski vs waterskiis).

  5. Why on earth aren't women and children interested in carving?

Too geeky, too much like the engineering type? G force does not equal orgasmic pleasure? Gentle touch of a soft glide/slide on the snow feels better than hard edge on cord (sleeping in 400 count sheet and feather bed rather than tumbling on hard snow comes to mind)?

    What gives...
