I got there at 9:15 and chair 2 and 7 already had races on them. The parking attendents were filling the parking lots from back to front. I went around them and parked near a few other cars near the lift.
I went to test out boot stuff. Snow was really inconsistent. Hard some places soft in others.
Left at 10am... Went home to a sick kid and a welding project.
Gonna try to go out tomorrow morning too, need to get these boots figured out.

Thanks Scott. Interested in your thoughts of this particular boot, and what made you decide on it over the others, such as 700, or UPZ offerings.
I tried to go with the upz last season, and even tried to have them pro fitted, and the pain was too much around my ankle.
The 700 would be too stiff for me at 160lbs and only really free carving.
I am having an issue with the liners in these slipping. I am seeing a fitter tomorrow to maybe get some custom liners in there.

I seem to recall seeing this somewhere, but cannot find it. Does anyone happen to know the shell size range for the shell that would fit a 27.0? Would this be 26.5 - 27.5, 27.0 - 27.5, or...? Appreciate the info.
Just got mine last week. Size 28.
This is what is on the shell...

Michelle and I plan to be there tomorrow. Hopefully conditions will be good.

Flat light, granular - not terrible though conditions wise
First run on my self heat fitted track 325s was so terrible I switched to softies. I couldn't get the boots to move at all in the right way. Out of fear and frustration I was quite upset.
After taking a few runs in softies, I decide to suffer through and try to make adjustments. After messing with the canting screws, boots start to move. But I no longer feel centered on the board. Need to make some adjustments.
Boots are correct size, but my legs don't fill out the top and the liner moves inside the shell. Might need to see a boot fitter when I get things adjusted and ridable.

I personally think the Burton Hard-On boot system is much more significant in boot development and Burton should send Ryan a pair to review!

Wasn't that a poor April fool's joke?

Given the weather outlook anyone planning on the xmas eve tradition?

26 would be too small, thank you though. I ordered track 325s from Donek. Hopefully they will work for me.

are you going to buy new boots? I remember you saying you had so many problems finding the right boot.
Yes. And yes. Upz hurt terribly. The old track 700s were too stiff and didn't hold my heel down in the boot. I think they tightened the heel since then.
I was thinking the track 325s might be good for me. At 160lbs I don't think I weigh enough to flex the race tongue for the others.
Where it broke, I was really surprised. It ripped the entire ledge off. Those boots did have 5 seasons on them.

So bad it is separated from the boot

Bomber store is open so maybe you can purchase new ones?
Up and going again? That is good news. I did have the parts I needed, but it was the last of the parts I had. Need to order more.
Heading out today.

Sunday 12/09
The day of the broken binding.
Conditions were actually pretty good. 1/2 of 2 was open and good, 1 was pretty good. I was really impressed. 7 was OK but had some holes.
Michelle's toe strap fell apart before we even got to the lift, so she rode my rocker instead. (her Donek comes on thursday, I am super jealous). My TD3 heel bail on my rear foot ripped out mid turn. Stripped out. I am hoping I can salvage it with some spare parts I have. Scary moment for me though, one footing mid carve feeling the tail pull away from me.
Plan to be back out Friday Morning.

What is the waist width? Model year? SCR?
It is an NSR+ASYM 182 with a 21cm waist built in 2010. I believe it was nose at 15m waist at 17m and tail at 21m. It does not like tight turns. It likes the long carves. In CO it was an awesome ride, but here in MN it is 6 turns and your at the bottom.

Deeluxe 2018 325 Shell sizing
in Carving Central
Posted
I had to mod them pretty significantly... The issue was the cuff size was 28-30 which it way too big. As the boot would flex the bottom of the cuff would make contact and open causing the liner to move easily inside the shell. I cut the cuff, and lowered the cants and boom... The boot started to flex better for me.
I also had to replace the top buckle with one that would go tighter.
I am still on the hunt for a better liner. Wrap style liners are trash in my opinion. They don't form a tight bond to the ankle, and don't flex in the right way. It feels like the stiffness is all at the top portion of the wrap instead of evenly distributed from the top of the boot to my ankle.
There is shape to the bottom of the shell too. Which I don't understand why. I understand slanting, but why shape it under the arch? Just do a flat slant and let people use insoles for support.
