  1. This sounds like a great event! Thanks to everyone for working to put it together. Neil, please count me in at June on Sat and Sun. I will bring with me (although they don't all need to go up the hill) CODA V0 Sidecarve (170 cm, 19.5 waist) CODA V0 metal Sidecarve CODA V0-xl convertible Sidecarve (186 cm, 19.5 waist, can be ridden as mono also) 2x CODA V2 convertible Sidecarve (170cm, 21.5 waist, can be ridden as mono also) CODA 163 Sideways (freestyle board) I also have an old Rossignol 166 Dualtech that has been ridden 4 days in the last 12 years :) it is totally for sale if anyone is interested (starting bid $50) :o And I will have a host of CODA monoboards just in case anyone is interested in trying a different style of carving ;) I will also be happy to spend time at the demo area. I can bring some tools up with me as well and I can also bring some other CODA stuff like DVD's and stickers.
  2. I was having major issues with my lower back. MRI showed no disk between L4 and L5. After a year of physical therapy, I had little improvement. Then I heard a podcast about the benefits of going barefoot and about the Vibram Five Finger shoes: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/ I got a pair of the KSO's and began wearing them exclusively (this was in August). Within one month my flexibility returned to what it had not been in 10 years and the physical therapist said I didn't need therapy anymore! I was sold and got three more pairs. I now wear them almost 100% of the time (I have to wear my boots for carving :) ). Now when my back hurts, I take a walk or a jog in my FiveFingers and everything feels better. The PE teachers at my school (my day job is as an assistant principal) now all wear them and they swear by them. Check them out.
  3. I am planning on going up for sunday only. I only have two demo boards (V0 and V2) as Aaron has taken the 190 and the metal 170 with him to Colorado :) So is it still June on Sunday?
  4. I think it was Midway. I would suggest you check out this thread though before heading up to Cypress: http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=27105&page=4

  7. Thanks for the reviews and feedback guys! CODA would like to wish everyone on Bomberonline a happy new year. As a way to promote the new Sidecarve line of CODA Boards, the first 10 boards purchased in 2010 will be discounted 15%. Simply create an account on the CODA website, put together your board options, and then use the coupon code: 2010Sidecarve (I would put this in the vendor section, but until I sell a few boards, I can't afford the vendor status :o ) I am uploading the short video I put together from the footage on Sunday to youtube right now, and I will post the link in the morning. Love the Mountain, Carve it Deep.
  8. As a guy who handcrafts all CODA boards, the tail cut out is a pain to build because it adds several extra steps to the core fabrication, pressing, and finish shaping of the board. but... CODA does the deep V tail on all our boards at this time for three main reasons: 1. decrease surface area in tail for powder riding. Creates a more versatile all mountain ride. 2. truly variable flex in the tail when used with our Tail Cable. Tail is soft to engage the carve and then stiffens up to hold the edge when really carving deep. 3. it looks cool!
  9. I will be at Chair 2 tomorrow morning (Jan 2) Black Explorer with CODA logos. I will have all of my Demo Sidecarve boards with me. I plan to trench up Broadway early in the morning and hope to be able to meet up with some carvers.
  10. Looking forward to meeting and riding with all of you guys. (any girl carvers in So Cal? ) I will be there with the 4 demo Sidecarve boards as well as some monoboards if anyone wants to try them. I won't have the lunch set up like we did on the 20th, but I will bring helmet cams to post a TR afterward. Also, I can only stay until noon this time, so I will be there really early in the parking lot to set up boards if needed.
  11. Since each board is handcrafted, I can get the stance wider. The issue is the tail which is a signature part of the CODA Sidcarve :D Send me an email with what you are looking for and I can see what we can set up. The turn around time is no more than 2 weeks. Incidentally we have just added a bunch of new CODA Graphics http://www.codaboards.com/graphics_select_all.php
  12. Bullwings, I will be back at Summit for the Jan 3 Session, and I will make sure to bring some demo monoboards as well Gruumer, I got your message. Lets make a board. Here is the short TR video from Cypress yesterday. Boris was tearing it up! http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=27105&page=4
  13. Roy and Boris! Thanks again for great day of riding. Here is the short video I put together. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkAOqRVBphE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkAOqRVBphE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
  14. That is a good question/concern about the tails on the CODA Boards. To date, there have not been any broken tails in over 5 years of hard riding in all conditions. If a customer breaks a tail under reasonable riding circumstances, I want the board to learn from and I will make a replacement. Unlike the the other split tail boards you have probably ridden, the tails on the CODA Boards are not profiled. The flex is created by the depth of the V and the tension in the tail cable.
  15. Roy, I sent you an email. What time at Cypress tomorrow? First thing, or do you wait a little bit?
  16. Hey Guys, I am in the Vancouver area until the 29th. I am riding at Baker on Monday, but was hoping to meet up with some of you guys at the local mountains... Grouse, Cypress, or Seymour. Do any of you plan on being at one of these mountains? I have my original V0 Sidecarve prototype with me if anyone would like to try it. -Chad
  17. Thanks to Aaron, Julian, and Robert for coming out and testing the new CODA Sidecarvers. Here is some video shot with my helmet cam (a vholdr ContourHD). The compression took away some of the quality and there was snow on the lens for some of it (I got a little snow on me while carving ;);) ) <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyVGuZ4BcwQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyVGuZ4BcwQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

  19. I am in town through 12/29 and I am looking to get in one or two days at the hills around Vancouver (Grouse, Seymour, Cypress). Anyone interested in meeting up or have suggestions about which is the best to carve? Thanks.
  20. Sorry Julian, I will be up in Washington this weekend.
  21. It was a lot of fun today! I am getting ready to road trip with family tomorrow morning so I am short on time right now. I got some video of the riding today that I will probably post on Wednesday this week. Aaron, Julian, Andrea, and Robert! Awesome carving guys. Thanks for coming out. I truly enjoyed hanging out with you and I look forward to more in the future.
  22. Nice :D Looking forward to tomorrow guys!
  23. These are just the first models and they are based on successful Monoboard shapes. With new CNC ability after the new year, we will have ability to easily change the specs. One of the V0 Sidecarves I'm bringing does have metal in it :)
