  1. I ride 185 Pro Team, 163 Pro Team and 163 Full T (all 08/09) and those are same construction. Also, no way 100EUR suggested retail price difference could give any extra value (inside construction) than the top sheet graphic. SG dealers in Europe sell those in nearly same price :) As you look at 2010/2011 line in the top, there's a new Full Carve that seems to look like identical shape (57, 63, 70, 75, 80) but no Titatnium... as far as I speak Japanese
  2. Pro Team 185 vs. Race Full T 163 - YES there's a difference in titanium layer thickness, however Pro Team 163 vs. Race Full T 163 - NO difference That's what I could compare in my own garage. As of http://www.sgsnowboards.com/ "Titanal technology and dampening system, identical set up"
  3. The "retail" team vs. full race is top sheet only 100%, however team racers like Karl might have some customization... I guess :)
  4. Chris quote: "...This is how alpine snowboarding started, with independent professional teams. This is perhaps my final competitive season, and I wanted to leave a legacy and show that perhaps there's another path to the Olympics." Observing US competitive snowboarding arena from my european perspective it looks like it's getting the major path for US racers :(( It's a lot harder, but if that's what needs to be done for the discipline to grow, you have the way shown by Chris "independent professional teams" instead of expecting what might never happen - USSA evolution toward European or Canadian model. The environment is so different in US vs. Europe: privately owned resorts, lack of grooming, gate training limitations / costs, expensive accommodation, a lot fewer races etc. so perhaps the approach must be different accordingly. I dont think you will ever have the comfort of european model with every single slope groomed daily, with ability to set course nearly everywhere for free, with the lift pass discounts just for the fact you are about to set a training course, with tourist skiers support for parts of slopes being closed for training on daily basis, with at least 1 FIS race within several hours drive every single weekend of the season, TV coverage... just my observations... correct if I'm wrong since it's been a while since I used to live in Colorado for 2 seasons
  5. Hi, Going to replace black Thermo Liners in my Deluxe Indy with Dalbello Gold. Deeluxe size setup is: shell size 295, liners size 29 - as purchased new from a local dealer a couple of seasons ago. Deeluxe mondo 29 did always worked well for me. I must decide on Dalbello Gold size order without trying them on, since not available on stock. What are your experience in therms of size equivalent while replacing Deeluxe Thermo by Dalbello Gold? Is a "blind" 29 order a safe shot in terms of feet size and shell fit? Any suggestions? thanks Piciu
  6. Hi, Are there any advantages or disadvantages of riding SW along with VIST plate vs. F2s + VIST? Has anybody tried it already? piciu

  9. hi, i will respond in details + pictures + board specs. tommorow, i'm on the way from glacier training in Austria to my hometown and the board is there
  10. purchased last Christmas, used 3 days, pictures via email, $500
  11. how about screw lenght 14? i got my plates very recently, they came with the plate to board screws size 14. Am I at any risk?
  12. if you really gonna try a diferent mounting, please share your opinion on rear vs. central afterwards. :)
  13. You welcome :) So, if there's anybody out there who can share his opinion on the different VIST mounting riding expirience, please submit.
  14. oh yes they can... that's whay you received 4 oval pads, not only 2 :) the majority of racers go for rear fixing but front and central are also allowed. i spoke with simon schoch at EC race in Goetschen last December. his suggestion is rear... rear should give the maximum of floating effect, but you might feel it harder to initiate the turn at the begining. but according to simion, this will benefit once you get used to. The question i'm addresing is to get the riders opinion on different mounting scenario.
  15. we're close in terms of the distance you can mount it 3 ways: 50, 48 or if you only turn 1 square (either front or rear) 49. but what i'm still asking, where do you let your plate to float on the board, which square is fixed with the oval pads? there's only 1 point allowed for oval pads: front square or rear square or central.
  16. yeah, but i'm asking about the mounting the plastic plate to your board: - the plastic squares that are fixed between both plates to attach the whole system to your board
  17. ok :) but where did you mount with the oval pads: - frot foot - rear foot - central ??
  18. we misundertodd each other, i alway mount all the holes/inserts: 1. 4 screws rear 2. 4 screws front 3. 2 screws central so there are always 3 mounting points/10 screws. The options i have is to determine one of the points to mount it still using the provided oval pads under the srews. The following 2 mounting points are fixed with the round pads under each screw, so they can "float", since all the mounting holes in a plate are always oval. Simply, my question was which point (this can only be one) to choose for the oval pads.
  19. you can fix still one of 3 mounting points of the plate: 1. rear bindings inserts on the board 2. central holes (drilled in board or pre asembled i.e. some kesslers and some new SG) 3. rear bindings inserts on the board and let the plate "float" on the 2 other mounting points when the board bends. As of manufacturer the choice is rider preferences.
  20. Hi, i've a question to VIST users. What determines which of 3 possible fixing scenarios one should go for? Does it depend on board lenght or rider weight? What are the differences between each of the fixing types for board performance? any help?
  21. that's my point, you've cleared better than i :) i got the skills, the experience (15+ yrs of carving, raced at FIS, EC and some WC long time ago, CASI/CSF level 2 race coach cert+experience) but quit 4 years ago and now looking for the highest perfomance available gear to do gate training every once in a while, for fun, hobby like but hard... i have time and can afford it nowadays. riding 4 weeks per season vs. 20-30 weeks in the past, did not change my gear since 4 years since felt did not need to, but my expectation have exploded after 2 weeks of PSL traning on 07 of shelf Kessler 161 + VIST (a litlle too short) i got the choice: of shelf Kessler vs. SG, dont want to wait for custom Kessler (however that's doable as well trough a retail in Austria but takes long), price is not an issue I'm new to custom, metal and plates. That's a reason why looking for suggestion from you guys. of shelf Kessler or SG ??? i'm counting votes:) 34yrs/6 feet/211 lbs low fat :)
  22. Bola: since you look to be experienced in riding K and SG, how would you compare? based on high racing skills of a rider, how does SG perform vs. K? i believe i got the skills, i got Kessler 161, i rode Kessler 185, love them both, but i have no experience with any other metal pure race board. regardless the life expectancy, i'm only asking about the riding performance in racing conditions. i got a special deal on SC Full Race T from the distributor back home, but must decide soon, without a test ride. Piciu
  23. Hi Guys, It's been almost 2 seasons since the subject was opened. There's been new boards launched by SG and K, and new experiences gained by the riders. I'm in a simmilar situation now, riding 07 Kessler 161 and considering 09 SG Race T 163 & 185. Any new opninions? Advices? RaceBoder7, what was your choice/feedback? piciu
