First of all I have to give a shout of "Thanks a bunch" to Larry for sharpening my board yesterday *0835 - started my walk down to the hill, it's gonna be a great day! *0843 - As I reach the parking lot....WTF is going on here? Milk run is all racers and Crossroads is being corded off for racers and they were staking out Olympic dream for racing. *0847 - Get my ticket and try and devise a game plan, I'm not going to waste an 8 minute walk and go back home. *0851 - Get on the lift and scope right then left and left and left and left...Warner's.....no tracks! *0852 - I was my own hero, I got my confidence back from last Sunday when I had a dull board (Thanks again Larry). I stayed an hour until I was overcome by other boarders and skiiers. Nice to hear a skidder say to his buddy "That looks kinda cool." *0947 - Took off the board and started my nine minute (slower up hill) journey back home after a great day on Buck. :boxing_smI've been out a hand full of times so far this year and the conditions have been great all except one on Buck. I'm racing again on NASTAR and Ski Challenge but I need to get out on the snowboard gates because I have to beat one of the guys that beat me at nationals the last three years. I have the TD3 step in's on my Nidecker GS and I broke the binding plate, not sure how but it happened. I took a picture of it and sent it to Bomber to see if I could get a new one, I've only had it for about a season. I have the SideWinder's at home just waiting to go on my new Prior WCR Metal board that I haven't had out yet. I think I'll do the SideWinder in the front and the step in in the back, makes logical sense (I guess). I'm actually not sure if I want to break out the new board because I like my Nidecker sooooo much. Plan on going over to Welch on Friday to pick up my $99 season pass and do some NASTAR. Normally a pretty good crowd out there and with 17,000 $99 season passes sold (that's what I've heard), it's bound to be a zoo Hope to get out to Buck on Sunday morning, I haven't been out there yet this year. The snow guns are in place at Buck, now we just need some colder temps to they can fire them up. Looking at the long range forecast...maybe Tuesday? Keep your fingers crossed. Da Grinch

This is going to be my breakthrough year but I want to start out on the right foot, meaning.....I know everyone has a different angle that they like their feet and I think mine are not forward enough. What are the angles of your bindings? Bruce wants to know

Now it's time to put the board away and dream of well groomed runs for a another 6 months I'm looking to purchase some equipment for board tuning, any ideas? I purchased some Saucer Wax so I have that area covered (I think) any other ideas for stuff to purchase?

Board was good, was still getting used to it during the competition. Not sure if I should have used the new board or stuck with the old one but what's done it done. Ankles were a bit tender after a few days, not sure if that can be helped or not. Might try a more forward stance next year, will adjust those when my board gets back home so they are ready to go when the season comes around next year :)

NASTAR Snowboarders group has been formed, we will see how that goes.:o

Now that MY season is over, what do I have to look forward to? How do I prepare for next season? Damn I wanna get faster

Ended up with my 2nd 2nd place finish and had a great time doing it. Next year I go up in age and my competition follows me. I join the most decorated NASTAR snowboarder as he won't move up into the next age category Warm temps today so the boarding was a bit mushy from the half way point of the mountain down but the morning boarding was outstanding. Heading out for dinner and heading home tomorrow. Peace Out Bruce

Not so good of a day yesterday, my competition has me by one second. They take the best of each day and the best average wins. First run was ok, second run I wiped out TWICE:freak3:!! He fell also so i don't feel quite as bad:p. Looks like it's almost 1/2 carving boards this year and carvers should take over freestyle boards next year I would think. Rumor has it that they will not be having the competition here next year, we will see. The weather here yesterday was perfect. Lots of sun and nice conditions all around the mountain. Yesterday I boarded with underarmor long john top and a fleece and was very comfortable. I went to Thunderhead (about the 1/2 way point up the hill) and went all the way to the bottom twice without stopping (other than a freestyle boarder crashing into me). I guess I'm acclimating to the conditions because I sure am less winded. Well, second and last day of the competition so I better go for broke. Peace Out Bruce
