I know the people who have crashed into me saw me. They chose to attempt a pass

I have come to the realization it's not visibility that is lacking. It is the uphill perpetrators judgment.

When I rode it, Gilmour bias mirrors the natural foot positioning I gravitated to on a skateboard (longboard) and allowed me a more
torsochest forward facing stance. Also boot centering (over the binding) helped my riding balance-wise, and was more difficult to achieve with smaller boots (M26) and the available on-market bindings.

@Jianan Were you able to contact TLN to explain the issue?

...my v2 has 5mm button heads. I believe that is the standard (vs 4mm flat head)
-
...let me add this. The farther apart the axels, the "stiffer" the board will ride, increasing turn radius...like a wide (non-plated) stance.

Strange. Mammoth has 20" for this storm and is closed today (Saturday) and not expecting more...

I have some feedback on the heel cleat movement issues...
Thanks for that... When you say heel cleat movement issues do you mean you feel they go up and down?
I do see the highbacks moving up/down 1/4 to 3/8" up down on a toeside. I believe @RoroSnow used pipe clamps to keep them in place (eliminating the ability to fold the highback down after use).
May I also ask if you feel the Powerride wings make a difference, and in what way?

Its been nearly a year since the last post and we are heading into sale season.Any updates or comments on the Step-on system?Anybody abandon them? Anyone fall in love? Anymore modifications?
I personally like them a lot (photon/genesis). Truth, in the 90's I went to hardboots to rid myself of strapping in. Now with these I can ride more mixed conditions/powder with soft boots and no infernal strapping in. HB's are great, but not in every condition. in fact I'm riding more soft than I ever have in 30 years.
Downside is that it can be difficult to step-in in powder.
The only other option I would consider is the Nidecker Supermatic - no dedicated boots. However I like the greater forward lean adjustability of the S/O's.

Tempted. My Photons are softer than I’d like and after riding them I need to size down. If they’re still available next fall I’ll probably snag a pair and ebay the Photons. I found the dual Boas on the Photon better than the mix of speed lace and Boa on the Ion though.
Agreed. I do like the Boa system better than speed lace for ease of adjustment. Do you think the Powerrides would help the Photons?

Last year, very limited, no longer made, no longer in stock anywhere I can find. It’s inexplicably still in their catalog but I talked to one of their support people about it.
Too late. Ions already gone on Ebay, got 50% of MSRP for a pair of used boots so not too much lost there. The Photon Wides are a much better fit and not too much softer, at least just wearing them in the shop.
Step-on Ion Wide back in stock at Burton...620 bucks!

I think OP is asking if there are other disks that allow the binding to move toward the toe edge. The burton disks do not allow for enough lateral movement.
A slotted disk (vs holes) might work if made...

...then after all is installed adjust the preload and forward lean with the top/bottom nuts

I am about the same weight, although taller. I also wanted more flex. After installing the DGSS I found the (black) tongues to be the limiting factor. I exchanged them for the super-soft red ones, happy now.
Same here...

Can anyone comment on DGSS vs the UPZ XC12 SHOXXTER "free flex"? @dhamann?
I'm using the stock UPZ XC12 with the "free flex". I'm about 166 cm at 72 kg and typically looking to make my boots more flexible for Pure Boarding style of carving; not stiffer.
The DGSS system has more forward lean travel capacity than the "free flex" unit (from personal observation). The "free flex" unit bottoms out later than the stock unit and sooner than DGSS.

@UPZ North America Bro! Thank you!! I contacted SG with no response.
My daughter (SG) would consider me a bonafide hero...
Looking forward to the website relaunch!

@rjnakata ooo, good find!
Well it wasn't me who figured this out...a search of past posts will likely yield more specific info on the proper springs...good luck!

Guys gals or otherwise, remove bindings when dropping off for a tune.
I also take off the stomp pad when they do a base grind...it causes the board to "hitch" when passing through the machine leaving a mark on the base...

Have you seen this at McMaster Carr? I once bought a number of differing springs here that worked well for BTS...ie they were the same springs as Bomber but different colors.
I just don't remember which I ordered... Maybe someone will chime in.

Should we all just start straight lining? Is getting smoked by the general public from behind the new norm?

I find those people out especially in the first hour when the groom is the best. They're long gone by noon when there's a little bit of chop.
