  1. Hi

I am not sure that anyone will remember me from here, a couple shoulder injuries and other mishaps has kept me away for the slopes for the last couple of years, I am back and looking forward to winter.

A lot has changed, the biggest thing being I now own a longboard skate shop in downtown Toronto, called Longboard Haven. It is Toronto's newest skate shop offering the best quality longboards and skate gear for riders of all ages and abilities. Our philosphy is simple, "if we don't ride it, we don't stock it", we are focused on providing the best equipment, customer service and expertise.

Longboard Haven is thrilled to partner with Apex Sport and Kessler Canada, becoming the first ever showroom dedicated to leading-edge snowboard race technology.

We are holding an event at the shop on Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 to celebrate this step in bringing together people who love a perfect carved turn and to wish members of the Canadian Olympic Alpine team good luck before heading to Sochi.

Here is a link to the event and please like us on FB, Twitter and Instagram!!!

Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

    All the best,

    Rob

  2. I do not know who fed you that nonsense!!!!!

I have a 184 PR that Bruce built for me almost 7 years ago - it see's 10-15 days per season and it rides today as well as it did the first day being place in my hand. The camber is still alive and well.

To say that the quality still continues - I was luck to pick up a slightly used 177 All Mountain a couple seasons ago and it has performed as well as my first Pure Race.

    Just my 2 cents Canadian

  3. I went to Louis with my son on Sunday and I would honestly give my "left nut" for another day of riding like that.

Perfect is not a good enough word - hero winter snow, blue sky and sunshine - the hills never even got marked up

I am hoping that mother nature continues to cooperate and I can get up this week.

    All the best,

    Rob

  4. Anyone out there have a set of red springs that they would like to get rid of.

I am running all blues in my BTS and think I would prefer the stiffer reds.

Anyone willing to sell - I am interested in buying.

    All the best,

    Rob

  5. Jules:

Thanks for the update - it helps

I am still worried that the base is relatively thin - wrong turn in the wrong place can kill a board.

With rain called for today - who knows.

Seems like we will be getting some winter on Sunday/Monday

    All the best,

    Rob

  6. Hey Guys & Gals:

Can anyone report on the actual snow conditions in the Barrie area, more specifically Mount St. Louis Moonstone.

The web cams make it look white, but they are reporting 15cm - 35cm base - do not want to risk a board if the snow is only just covering the ground.

Any input or actual reports would be appreciated.

    All the best,

    Rob

  7. I to received my BTS's from YYZ Canuck - they look and feel incredible.

Got them installed, but unfortunately we don't have any snow to try them out - current conditions are 6-8 degress above freezing and we have not seen snow - time to move west

Many thanks to Fin for building them and Dave/Andrea getting them to me

    All the best,

    Rob

  8. Topgun:

Another option is to take it to Sporting Life Boards and Bikes store on Yonge Street. Ask for Brian Spago - I am sure he is still doing the original tunes on all of Bruce's Coilers (Bruce might clarify this point).

As Gabe said, just don't leave it there and expect a good tune - talk to the person doing the work, so they understand what needs to be done.

Welcome aboard and if you want to longboard or slalom skateboard this summer - please feel to contact me.

    All the best,

    Rob
