How much more can they really do? There are people standing uphill shouting jump and some who drag people away. I dont think more people involved necesarily would be better?

It was just my first observation.  While watching it, there seems to be one guy clearing some skis out of the way, trying to do something while others were just holding up their phones.  I hope that no one was seriously injured.  Yes, documentation of the incident would be helpful for those who were hurt.

  2. Had my daughter with me when we left on Wednesday early afternoon.  The roads got progressively worse as we went south, but mostly just wet.  At the 91/95 junction, it was snowing very wet and hard.  Had to keep pulling over to keep windshield clean.  I wish we could have stayed for the Big powder day, but just like last year's dump, the mountain was not ready for it.  They had some issues with lifts?  Hoping to get back there this week.

  3. 1X,. I have been riding my Nervana Balance for three seasons, every time I find something new about how it likes to ride.  First, make sure you warm up your legs and lower body, get loose.  If you are going to be riding on perfect conditions, don't worry about anything else here, just go ride.

The board wants to be on edge.  The higher the better.  It will make very tight turns or long turns depending on your input.  I have found that if you initiate the turn, down weight, high angle you can throttle your turn.  When I over power the board, it doesn't like it.  Go to your favorite run and practice , break it down into parts.  When your body is comfortable, that board will follow what you want it to do.

  4. It blows my mind that we (snowboarding)have come full circle.  These new style boards seem totally retro, like  Burton Backhill boards and early designs that had the rear binding set favoring the back of the board?  These riders are ripping, and I am sure they can ride and rip on any style board.

  5. I will be taking one for the team.  Transitioning into spring, it's time to dust off some boards and wetsuits. The mountains know this, and they will hopefully kick winter into high gear for a few more weeks of winter!  Works every time.

  6. That rerun looked like  Kosir won.  The actual race looked like Sang Ho crossed ahead.  He was going for it and the crowd was really behind him.  I thought that it was exciting racing compared to all the flippy dippy freestyle snowboarding events.  We need to see more events televised!

  7. If you are regular stance you can control your speed on the toe side carve.  Really driving into the slope to control speed which helps the transition into the heel side carve.  For me, heel side is tougher to keep good carving form when speed is too much.  Usually resulting in a skid or a chatter.  So, if you favor heel side over toe side, that will work for you as well.

  8. 1X,  it takes some time for newer boards to get figured out.  I was trying real hard to bend my board in the nose, initiating the turn, then off the tail in the exit.  Was not liking my board.  Then you start reading some posts and messing around with stance, big mistake.  Take the board that is giving you some trouble and ride it.  Skid it, free ride it around do some carves too.  The board will let you know how it wants to be ridden.  I was giving my board too much input and all I really needed was to keep working on getting higher on edge.  After I figured that out, I could make tighter carves,  and keep speed in check while also working on getting lower.

  9. Man after last season out west would a hard one to follow.  Plenty of snow now in the NE. , but that is only until the next rain?  so far, so good.  I have some friends that just started some projects down in Taos, the weather is probably not helping at this stage.
