Two days of solid riding with this past snowfall. Still hardpack "ICE" as a base because of all the recent rain freeze. they do a great job resurfacing the trails, especially with some natural snow in the mix.

Oh man sorry to hear. We’ve been windsurfing a lot since it’s been warm here, and just taking it nice and easy so as not to tweak anything. Will ride this week on some hard pack and try not to do the same. Heal fast!

Boot and binding should be step in, it will make your return much more pleasurable. Check out a free carve or all mountain board. Welcome back!

That looks like a great deal. Now, walk before you run. Go ride some nice greens and tweak your set- up. Let your muscles remember what it feels like, and don't be discouraged if it doesn't happen as fast as you think it should. Keep us posted with your progress! Good luck.

Retail ski store on 5th or Madison 54th street. Beautiful stuff there, didn't want to ask what they cost.

Came across this store in the city. All custom from Italy. Cool helmets with built in visor, just like a fighter pilot.

Don't mess around with your choice of bindings. Bomber step ins for bigger guys is the way you want to go. You want to ride, so keep it simple. Deeluxe 700 with step in too. Everyone likes UPZ, but they seem to spend a while trying to get them dialed in? Good luck. The guys at Donek won't steer you wrong.

Had a back pac once riding to work on powder day, and the zipper failed. trying to find stuff in the snow, learned a lesson.

One allen key usually covers most field repairs. I hate having stuff moving around in pockets, cell phones wallets, car keys!

For bigger riders, like myself, the width of the board is important. 21.5 seems to be perfect. You can dial in your angles from there for your style of riding. 172 is nice and nimble for narrow trails. Plenty of help here on this forum.

Makes you want to try some soft boot set-up. Really tight grinding carves! Looks like their stance is set wider than hardboots?

Great to hear right before the holidays! First and fore most, I hope the snow conditions are as good if not better than last year's. Really want one of my daughters to get some video of me riding. Tried it last year with the GoPro, and it was a let down. Both in depth of field and my form. And to ride more!

Like in the "Deer Hunter" when one of the guys forgets his boots, the same thing happened in college skiing. Sorry, we're not turning around. Live for the Blue Bird days now, but the fresh stuff always takes it to another level!

We religiously read the "Old Farmers Almanac" every morning at coffee. Surprisingly accurate with some interpretation.

do you wear the spine protector under your layers, or over? I have a hard enough time just with layers I wear when nature calls. Looks cool though, might help with abdominal muscles when getting low.

Here in the NE, I like to use graphite wax. After the scape and brushing, I use micro fiber towel to buff. Comes out nice and slippery.

Just back from Vail Colorado this past weekend. Some nice snow on all mountains with snow Guns firing on Sunday. Keeping my fingers crossed!

hey you old farts are getting older! That's Mt Snow, the mountain I love to ride at. The rider, forgot his name, younger guy 20's- 30 year old. Trevor? Met him last season. He rips on some east coast conditions on he tight trails of the North side of the mountain. He is a rider for Donek too. So it's not all buttery soft snow to make your carving look great, and it's not in color? Well, I have some news for you, that's what it looks like most of the winter months here! Get over it, like your perfect!!!

Check out some u tube videos on tuning. I like “silent tuning with Sigi Grabner”. Tons there, will get you pointed in the right direction.
