  1. I'm not looking for a powder day , just a fresh base. Work is in the way tomorrow but Tuesday will give the groomwers a cance to do something.

Hit Vail on Saturday and anything other than groomers needs another foot of fresh to cover the ice

SHould I call or email throught this post?

    CJ

PS anyone else want to join us on Tuesday - skisofast - are you out there?

  2. I used a drill and it was fine. Use another heel piece as a template because the hole is slightly elongated versus round. Ideally you want to drill towards the front in order to maintain a solid rear section - make sense?

Start small and increase bit size as needed and have a file for the burrs

  3. O'sin in the early days built alpine rides. I have this same board - fun carver - probably from the mid-90's. I think the first photo has distortion that makes the nose look larger. Acutally, it's a traditional alpine shape - perhaps a bit wider waist than todays carving boards

    Anyone else have some input?

  4. Selling a pair of Burton Wind boots - liner size is 29.5 which means they can be used between a Mondo 29 and 30 sizing either with the existing liners or your own old ones. Boots are in very good shape, have lots of adjustment and are intec compatible. Liners are in okay condition and will certainly hold up for several seasons. Selling because as much as I like their fit, I just keep migrating to my Raichles.

Price is $150 including shipping in the US. I also have some spare burton boot parts that I will include for an extra $25. Includes spare buckles straps and the like. These parts are not needed but are handy to have just in case.

  5. Good call Mark - I had the same experience.

Because I had not paid a lot for my set, I tried the old larger drill bit excercise and either I was lucky or gifted but it worked. I used my newer intec heel pieces as my sizing guide and drilled them out - they work great

  6. I was on Mercury and Falcon - just missed each other by one lift - oh well - next time.

As for your bindings - see if Fin can send them back to Raichle for inspection. You'll be out a binding set for a while but with any luck, they'll send a new pair to replace. My suggestion if they do replace them - sell them and buy a pair of Bombers, Cateks or F2's

    :)

  7. I had the same thing happen with a of pair of Carbon X-bones. Most probable cause is tightening down to much on the mounting ring - It compresses the carbon fiber plate. When it blows - it splits the base just like your photos. You may want to check the other carbon plate to be certain that it's still good (oops - you blew both of them - nevermind).

Fortunately, I was able to get in touch with Raichle through Blue Tomato (pre fin days) and they sent a new plate to me.

On another note, rode breck today and kept just missing single carvers the entire day. Had a great time but would have been fun to hook up with a few other riders. That was me in the purple fate vest - madd 170 board - hacking up the mountain

Sorry about you bindings and glad you're okay

  8. Since I originally posted this as an FYI that it was for sale - it's now been through what four owners. Looks like the only one enjoying the ride is FedEx.

Tell us - what's up with this board that has everyone selling it days after it's bought - is it cursed?

PS - it's not hot potato - it's red hot chili
