"These are snowboard boots, not ski boots. They are soft boots covered in plastic."
I like softer flexing hardboots I'm gonna use that line and add "with stepins and they last for years."

got there at 930, I was the last car in the lot. they put the lot full sign behind my truck.
managed 5 runs of good carving before the knee complained too much, it's putting a damper on my stoke levels

that I aint 30 any more and should stop skiing like I was

the 4807 couldn't cut it, the 169 eldo rocked; the face was fun but my knee couldn't take the abuse after 2 runs

Hubby used to get some pretty bad back pain which was always relieved after he went snowboarding! Probably better than any chiropractor could do!
I had a pretty good twinge in my neck before Montucky, that afternoon I did what I call the "chiropractor roll" in the sunny mashed potatoes, the neck pain was gone and I looked good doing it

"When you can't make up your mind, half-ski, half-snowboard."
I ride with poles so when I get a similar comment I always respond with
'I'm just a wanna be skier" even though I can likely outski them

I have a set of those 20yr old binders with stepin that I bought NOS a few years ago; the original box came with different length screws to accommodate the cant/lift shims, I will double check mine to make sure the proper screws were used. Since they're all plastic, at 200# I only use them on my powder boards
-
I also found that by pushing both cant adjusters all the way down, the upper cuff to lower shell flex stiffens dramatically,
pull them all the way up for more flex for powder riding; I've even set the front down stiff and kept the back cuff up for more flex on the back foot w/out boot mods.

My boots are so old they automatically cant after the first turn!
the cant locks stripped out on my original 124 raichle's, this turned them into the best powsurfing hardboots ever, with stepins that way out performed the Clicker skylords!
I wished I could replace the cant mech with elastomer bushings to tune in the lateral flex

Last Wednesday at Loveland was probably my best day ever on the slopes (in about 50 years).
... because we knew there was nobody else above us.
I'll be replaying that day in my head when I am too old to ride.
mid week sleepers on empty slopes are special,
those are the days that reignite the passion, the rest just sort of blur together

@b0ardskiI'm also witnessing the decrepification of my body. I turn 62 soon, and finding my previously very able body is starting to betray me. Laughter is good medicine, certainly for me.
this place helps me exercise my wit
At 59 after 3+ decades of ski bumming and construction work my joints aint what they used to be, definitely on the downhill side of peak performance even though the skill set is at it's best

"decrepification" Love it! A new word to use with my patients!
decrepitude is not for wimps as it cuts down the ride time

I ended up buying the Deelux 325 in a size 28. They are a little tight but I think they’ll stretch out?! Now I’m in the market for a board as my old 62 ultra prime is delaminating yet again on the tail... where can I go to go and demo boards in the east?! I would love to try some of the newer boards as mentioned in this post!!
I had a skiboot fitter bump out the shell of my deeluxe at the ball of the foot with great results, if heat molding the liner is not enough to eliminate hot spots.

if you made the effort to drive up and get on the snow it counts as a day you went riding.
as the decrepification of my knees progress, a couple hours in the morning can be enough
