Three strap burtons were the ticket to carve in 88:cool:

I've used hard boots in strap binders a few times over 15 yrs and if they don;t break they still lack response.
-
I was thinking outer shell in rainy snow
-
I use green swix cold blended with one ball jay flourocarbon graphite, ratio dependent on witch board & conditions

water proof/breathable is an inverse proportion to itself, it's all compramise:confused:

these are my needs; boots 1, attachment system 2, toys 3 ; 1 vibram sole, flex forefoot for tele & hiking, DIN capable for any ski, bombproof lateral flex lockouts on both cuff rivets, race hard-to-park soft liners & external tongues. 2 intec style step-in heels, tele toe piece w/dampend flex to compensate for rigid boot sole. 3 all of them. DREAM BIG OR GO HOME

I saw my first plate binders in '88 when I was learning to ride in sorels w/skiboot liers. Trying to find gear that wasn't crap consummed my life. I rode every board the shop could get in and by '90 bought a new K2 TX 170. Best carving board I could get at the time. I modified strap binders to accept my Terminator tele's. Toe drag's a drag. In '92 i bought Nodica sbhard (AT boot w/lateral flex) and ignored the lace-up garbage they try to stuff down our throughts. Found new clickers & skylords new in for $100 in '02, tried'em 3 days and sold'em. Synopsis; What transition.

WHAT!!! You mean you can actually train them.

a crowd of hard booters would be worthy of attention. I'd like to join in such a trench fest. Blacktail was my home mtn when they opened in 99. I'll try to make it for a couple midweek days.

all praise stumpy. Donnely & Schmidt in AK fills me with devotion. In a world full of borders only some want to carve; isn't that crazy!

sorry blue bee, those are my wife's giggle sticks; i'd have to get divorced:nono:

nail on the head skategoat:smashfrea I wouldn't buy a board I was afraid to ride. On the flip side I've seen boards & skis w/metal bent from landing air in deep snow
