Yep, it's true. $199 for over 2 months of spring riding. Current base is 136".
Spring session anyone?

That's Marks' new functional spoiler design. It keeps the rear end stable at high speeds.

actually that's the problem, they're going fast in a strait line and I'm going just as fast in a curved line, laterally across the run which non-carving brains cannot comprehend
NCBD. Non-carving brains disorder. This explains alot.

Maybe we are looking at it the wrong way. For years I've been wearing bright colored jackets, so people can see and avoid me. This doesn't seem to work. Maybe it's "target fixation theory", if you look at an object you will hit it. When riding trees, or mountain biking, look for the space, don't look at the trees.
Maybe people are so in awe of us that that they fixate on our awesome skills, and hit us. Maybe wearing white, top to bottom, and blending in is the answer. I have less close calls when it's snowing so hard I can barely see.

https://anthonylakes.com/event/veterans-appreciation-day-2/
I'm not a veteran, but thought I'd share because this is pretty cool.
I'll be there 2/22-2/24 anyways. They have primo grooming, and 3 days of riding will cost $130.00.

Groomed runs are kind of limited at Crystal. If you hit it on a powder day, forget the groomers.
Queens Chair, Quicksilver and Green Valley will have the most consistent carving runs.

Guys gals or otherwise, remove bindings when dropping off for a tune. Funny stuff though. Toe clips? Must be backcountry.
I assumed incorrectly that he had a binding bridge. I'd worked in a repair shop and though it was a standard piece of equipment.

I took one in for a stone grind and he used indelible ink to mark where the bindings went. He told me he always used an ink pen. I asked if he had ever heard of tape.
I had strong words with him.

Not enough snow, too much snow, too much wind, too much ice, more too much wind. Wake me up when spring gets here. Good thing I didn't go this week, I would have missed the rain showers inside my living room.

+1 for Fast Stik. Can be applied in the field, although I prefer to rotobrush it in. Fast to apply, fast on the boards and zero mess. Love the smell of ski wax in the winter but happy to give up the waste/mess and manual labor of traditional waxes.
The Fast Stik spring wax is pretty amazing too. Much softer stick, so it uses up faster, but worth it to keep in your pocket when the temps are above average.

I'm a fan of the Indy Pass: https://www.indyskipass.com/
Support local ski areas. Less crowds, less attitude, less money, more parking.

In a case like this, when nobody seems to have an answer, I look to the spirit world.
So, I lit some incense, held a séance and consulted the all knowing Ouija Board.
The response was "two weeks". For what it's worth.

We have the 450SL, but it's a 1979. Probably a little different these days. Hardtop is not retractable and takes two people to lift it off.

No carving here, or snowboarding. But a pretty cool video and concept.

Please take a look at this recent post. It may help you answer some questions.

Thanks for the input everyone. Boots have been sold to Fathermathew.
Board too.

Just curious if anyone knows how much wiggle room a heat moldable liner provides. Can I stuff a 27.5 foot in a 27.0 shell by re heating the liner?

I spoke with the Apex inventor years back when I was teaching boarding and skiing. I also knew an instructor that swore by them. They seem to do well for the recreational skier/rider. Much stiffer than traditional soft boots and you can adjust the stiffness. I'm sure you would get heckled at some point if you were skiing with them, especially at Alta or Deer Valley.
BTW, they guy I spoke with also invented the rear entry ski boot.

You may want to contact the mountain and try to track down Robby Burns. He trained at Mt. Shasta and raced in the last Olympics.

1st report is not good. Some new old dude at bottom of lift, my wife and I normally ride up for free because we are crew family. We'll not anymore plus every handicapped parking spot was full so no where to park.
Has she hit the 20 year mark for the family passes yet?

Switch carving heel side is easier than switch toe side. The above video is evidence. I think it may be due to the transition. Toe to heel feels more natural than heel to toe. Not many people can pull it off smoothly. I can't. I suggest working on surface spins in both directions as well. That will help give you a feel for your center of balance before committing to an edge.

Did you wax between each run?
Heard it in the lift line 2023-2024

Last week a guy on a snowboard says, "What do you call that thing?"
My answer, "A snowboard".
He laughed, I think he thought I was joking.
