  1. Try wearing your boots at home for a half hour to see if this could be a circulation problem.  When I tried this, my feet were starting to go numb in  deluxe boots with a thermo liners.  Remolding using the next clasp (tighter) helped.

The next season, my feet became happier in UPZ's with Palau liners and Hotronic heaters for sub-zero f riding.

  2. Have Hotronics in custom footbeds, now on second generation of Palau liners.  First generation wire was routed on the outside of my heel and the movement in my rear heel wore through the wire insulation after 4 seasons.  Current or 2nd generation liner, the wire is routed from under the ball of my foot and over the outside in front of the toes then up the tongue between the inside of the shell and exterior of the liner.

  3. My local go to board for the last 3 seasons is a 165 BXFR with HB's and plate bindings.

Great response and feel on easy blues and even at slower speeds.

    Running lower angle 21 to 25 front / 8 to 15 rear.

And I believe there is one for sale

This clip of Gabe ripping on a BX got me interested in wider boards

  4. Corey - is this the board that you tweaked your knee on?

Last week I rode my new 181 Fullbag Hammerhead 35/20 with HB's and did not feel I had control or leverage on the heel.  Next day I adjusted to 21/8 and used forward inserts - MAJOR difference!  This big powder board can carve.  Groomed surface was firm and fast and the board railed.  Should have good results in CO next month.  Give it it a go, less lateral stress.

  5. "How long do ski helmets last?

Replace after two to five seasons for maximum performance (just like with ski boots, skis, etc)," Oscar Huss, head of product development for POC Sports, wrote in an email. Even if you never crash in a helmet, the Snell Foundation suggests replacing the lid after about five years.Feb 18, 2014"

"Alta has been referred to as a “skier’s mountain” for many reasons. It is known for its scenery, diverse terrain and for the uncanny quality of snow that it receives season after season. Also, Alta does not allow other types of winter recreation other than skiing. It is a watershed, so no mechanized vehicles are allowed. The ski area has decided to be “just for skiers”, so other snow-sliding equipment is not allowed. It is one of three areas in the United States that does not allow snowboarding."
