DiveBomber
Never ridden there, but im pretty tired of the drive to breck or keystone. i know its not that much closer, but figure almost a half hour might make me get out more. Speedzilla
I've only been there once, early season. I like it, there are some nice groomers for carving. Although, like you said, it's not really that much closer to Denver.

jbb
Was there two weeks ago, about 30 cars in the parting lot, and conditions were eastern packed powder, called icy by locals. There were great carving runs, all wide and mogul-less under lifts 2, 4, and 9. I hear you guys were dumped on last week, so conditions should be much nicer. There is a lot above treeline. big mario
I have to ride on weekends, and even with the overflow lots full there is plenty of room to rip, especially over at chair 8. When it dumps, 8 and the ridge are outstanding. It takes me 50 minutes from I-70 and federal when the roads are clear. On the weekends, sunday is the day to go. The weather can be a little rugged, I've been up there with -30 degree wind chills in January, not for the faint of heart. There are 5 to 10 other hardbooters up there, give us a shout. mario
philistine
...And if you get tired of riding inside the resort, ride the pass.
Guest pcogan
been riding there ten years, so here are some thoughts: the grooming is very well done: consistent, no surprises there are a few of us who carve there consistently on weekends, so that's a big plus. also, you park at the lifts, so switching boards is simple compared to say buttermilk or beaver creek, the runs are not nearly as long, but if you carve hard from 8:30 - 11:30, you'll get in plenty of turns on good terrain finally, it can be somewhat brisk at times, but that keeps the folks off the hill i'll certainly get a pass next year send an email if you want to join us, or show up when the lifts open last point: all the snobs turn their noses at loveland -- no fast lifts, no fancy shops, no expensive parking -- so it's just un-beautiful types like us pcogan denver

I'm rapidly becoming SOOOOOO tired of ski lodges. The food is uniformly awful...the wine usually is vinegar, between getting opened and getting served. I'm rapidly appraoching the point of just making sandwiches and toting a beer in my back pack!
