Thor VonRippington
Why are you selling this board AM?
AMWOOD
"Why are you selling this board AM?" I came to find i like a wider waisted board and like to run shallower stance angles. Shallower angles = More control all mountain (steeps,bumps,crud..etc). Wider waist = More balance, and again, more control.
Thor VonRippington
What did you think about the stiffness of this board. I am quite a bit heavier that you and wonder if this would be too much flex for me.
AMWOOD
I think that would maybe be a Bruce question?? I think the stiffness is a 7.1 ?? At the time i bought it i was weighing in around 178-182#'s and i conveyed this to Bruce. I think it would depend on your riding style(aggressive -or- passive), also. I dont really have much to compare too, so maybe someone else could chime in here??
Neil Gendzwill
My 172 AM was built for 190 lbs and is a 7.7. I wouldn't want it any stiffer for all-round use, maybe slightly softer would be better.
Thor VonRippington
Thanks for the input... more is welcome. At the moment, I'm tip'n the scales at 210. Wouldn't consider myself to be a passive ridder, but have seen plenty of guys who charge harder on the steeper stuff. (My stones have shriveled and I hate to crash.) Dr D
I also am at a loss for what stiffness would be best. I rode a 185 identity race board that had about 3 inches of camber and my 265 pounds could hardly bend it below mach 5. I just don't want to work that hard. I would like to enjoy a full day of carving without 42 lactic acid stops. I am beginning to think that a softer setup would be to my liking. The AM setups look to be the most promising.
