EPIK CARVE
Has anyone ever bought anything from anyone off Craig's list???? I found a board to buy but very little protection from fraud? Just looking for some feedback.
D-Sub
I have bought and sold on CL many times. mostly sold. here: www.escrow.com absolutely flawless fraud protection. simply NO way around it. Ive used them many, many times. It costs a little more...I think $20 or $25.
Art
Same here. If shipping or blind sale is involved, than I wouldnt do it. If local where you can look at the goods then go for it.
D-Sub
Art...point is...escrow eliminates _any_ worry so if you cant find what you want locally, or your wary for any reason, just use escrow. it is 100% foolproof!
Hugh
Craigslist is a great resource = online garage sale. I always buy local on CL in my area. That way, I get to inspect the goods before buying. --Hugh
Art
D- I just sorta skimmed and missed the escrow thing. I just do local stuff on CL with decent success- some real flakes out there. I have seen some alpine stuff but pretty rare. I guess I prefer it the old fashioned way, cash after inspection or delivery.
Neil Gendzwill
I just like the "best of..." posts. Some weird and funny people posting there.
D-Sub
in person is definitely easier, but if you live in a remote area or cant find what you need near you, theres really no reason to buy from a distance. I have purchased things based on faith, and 99% of the time came out fine. I have sold many, many items to people and never had a problem, so keep in mind that there are trustworthy people out there. Neuffy
I bought my first alpine snowboard from D-Sub....went fine. (Coiler AM177) It's basically a trust thing. You have absolutely no buyer protection whatsoever. The question is: Do you believe this person? Do you believe in the inherent goodness of humanity? (lol) Try for local, if you can. If you can't, either order from a reputable business (eg. Bomberonline) or reputable people.
D-Sub
yeah adam...and it turned out to be the wrong board for you. I still kick myself over that one. did you find something more suitable since?
