Indoor slopes

I went snowboarding on saturday night and this morning. Yes today 24th of October 2005. But then our indoor real snow slope is only an hour away from me. While it it raining here in England we do have the option of perfect visibility and snow at Xscape in Milton Keynes.

I took a couple of boards. Last years Santa Cruz 163 GLX LTD with my intecs on and also an F2 163 SL. I get a few funny looks from the rail riders, as I am stood in the lift line wearing my Deeluxe Le Mans with Thermoflex liners.

The liftie checks out my gear saying. "Good on you mate.. Keeping it Retro.. Nice..."

Yeah I have some pictures from Xscape here:

I kind of despair a bit as most of the indoor/ plastic snowboarders don't seem to be able to ride, but they have fun so I guess that's ok. The skiiers tend to be better actually; not sure why that is. Less of a fashion sport I suppose :-(

That project in New Jersey is the biggest beast of a project I've ever heard of - 4.8 million sq. ft.

In addition to the indoor slope they have an indoor formula one track, ice skating multiple basketball arenas - they are building a city right on top of the only wetlands in that area. Not sure how that is going to work

the project is called Xanadu http://www.meadowlandsxanadu.com
