FTA2R
Hey guys, I want to do this camp @ Mammoth and turn it into a vacation w/ a friend from SLC at the same time. I need some help though. 1. Where are some dunes in Nevada to go ATV'ng and/ or dune buggys? I've never done it before but really want to. 2. Same as #1 but for hang gliding. 3. Any other suggestions of adventure type things to do in Nevada (besides gamble) with a friend whose probably driving from SLC. 4. How far is Mammoth from NV state line? thx, Barry
Randy T.
Hey Barry, Here is some info. 1. Sand Mountain is an awesome place to ATV. It's 600 feet tall and about 2 miles long. It's about 1.5 hours from Reno. They do not rent ATV's there so you need your own. Check this out or Google it to find more info. www.travelnevada.com/story.asp?sid=48 2. I know a lot of people hang glide off of Slide Mountain, 30 minutes from Reno, but I have never done it so I don't have any more info. 3. This time of year you can take your pick from almost any activity your into: Snowboard, Mtn. Bike, Hike, Raft, Kayak, 4-wheel-explore the desert, etc.. 4. Mammoth is a 3 hour drive from Reno. FTA2R
Left the info at home somewhere, will try to find it. I just signed up for the camp. Hopefully I won't be dead tired after the 1st run with the major alt. difference. Who else is going? --- Barry
nekdut
Barry, I am. The altitude may get to you unfortunately. I go up there often and I am still always winded the first day there.
