Local gear

Hey guys,

I thought it would be nice to have a local gear thread.

Here we go:

Sport Junkies has the following:

Bunch of good quality insoles, some heat moldable (no 9-10 size left), $14,

Stuf Accelerator 150, new but a bit beat up from kicking around shelves, $50,

Bunch of nice freeride boards 160-170 lengths in rare sub-25cm waist width. One big Rossi is practically the same shape as the Steepwater, but I think foam core. Most of them about $80-90...

2x Dupraz 5'5", in ok shape. One is D1, other D1++, but I do not feel difference in flex. $200 each,

A pair of legendary Volkl Explosive skis, 171, no bindings, $20.

Nice thorough reporting Boris, it almost seems like you got these shops under constant surveillance....

Perhaps a North Shore and Whistler Re Use It center update will be also coming soon?

Looking forward to cutting tracks with you guys in about 3-4 weeks, snow level permitting!

I have the following items available for sale to local carvers:

-Coiler WC Race 186- an old school fibreglass monster with world cup construction that is in very good shape - no bindings- $295.00

-Winterstick 162 Severe Terrain with Snowpro race plates- $200 - 1996 model

-Winterstick 166 Severe Terrain with Snowpro raceplates $200- 1998 model - SOLD

The Winterstick Severe Terrains are good starter boards for riders who want to transition into carving, but like the familiar feel of a freeride deck underneath their feet. These boards are stiff enough to rail with confidence once you have mastered the norm, but are forgiving enough to also handle powder and crud.

Winterstick 156 Retro that has been cut by me into a splitboard- complete with skins and Voile spilt kit hardware, but

no bindings. Price $100.00 - will suit a rider between 125-165 lbs who needs a starter all mountain splitboard for the

local backcountry. SOLD

Oxygen 164 Proton with Snowpro race plates- $200.00 - SOLD

Hi Guys,

I am a snowboard / ski instructor out of Whistler and looking to move into some alpine boarding for the fun of it. I was hoping to get some advice on what gear would work best and also if anyone has some old gear at a decent price I can buy to get started that would be great. I am 169 cm tall and a very strong snowboarder so can handle something a little on the longer side. I have only ridden an alpine board 3-4 times before on green runs and plan to use my ski boots at first so will need clip in bindings as opposed to step ins.

Any advice / gear recommendations (offers) would be welcome. Also if anyone wants to catch up and go for a shred some time in Whistler just let me know.

I visited the North Shore Sports Swap, yesterday after Cypress...

Tons of older AT boots, reasonably priced (under $100).

A beat up, but ok edges, Never Summer 168, with softie bindings, $50.

An Invasion 167 with softy bindings, ok condition, I think it was $70, or $80.
